Yea, we (Kieran, I and possibly other people for decoration) built a giant arena for that game (called Spleef) that rebuilds itself automatically, you just need to hit a button.

Spleef! Thanks I totally forgot this after that much time.

At first I thought I would hate Minecraft, and while the singleplayer does suck, it's only fun on servers. I run my own and play on a couple, which can be pretty entertaining.

I also like griefing it.

This topic needs revival.
First, Minecraft 1.2.5 was released yesterday. Here's the changelog.
Second, Jeb_ did an AMA on Reddit (essentially a Q&A) and answered a few questions.
Third, Optifine, Single Player Commands, and ModLoader have all been updated and are ready for 1.2.5. Additionally, Optifine now has the sun, moon, and stars in short and tiny render distances. <3

Because ModLoader is updated, TMI should be compatible, right?

Yes, it is ready. I've downloaded TMI 1.2.5 for my older comp.
Btw, what do you think about one thing, diamonds... Some guy made a host and when he's mining with all other people (and me) in the very depths, on height 12 to search for diamonds. I spent hours and did not find at least one diamond ore and that guy found about 50 of them! Do you think it's just pure luck or has he something to "navigate for diamonds"? I know getting lots of diamonds may be a lot of luck but in some places I don't see diamonds and when that guy just hits one stone block and "I got diamonds!". Not to be jealous or something. I got only 5 of them. I find it suspicious. It's kinda disappointing me because I spent hours to have just a diamond sword and pickaxe when this guy has, two diamond sword, 2 diamond pickaxes, full diamond armor and he still has 26 diamonds left.
Not to be suspicious or what but I had luck on SP with diamonds. I have parts of armor and some other diamond stuff but this guy is kind of diamond navigator. Doesn't it smell like... using mods? Just asking...

Yeah, the way modloader based mods work is that they never need to be updated... It's effectively unofficial official mod support.

I found something awesome, which I wanted to share. It is a video of a city being built in Minecraft over the period of three days. This video, however, is only 7 minutes and 15 seconds long.
Now, I bet you're wondering why I posted this in this thread instead of in the video thread in the WoI. Well, that is because I had an idea. What if the Minecraft players of SMWC made a video like this? I think that it would be a very fun thing to do, and it would look amazing as a finished product. I have a few ideas for what we can do, but I would like to see if anyone is interested in doing something like this first.

Then let's discuss a mod.
This mod, the Gulliver Mod, is just...amazing. :o It adds two potions to the game, taking up the slots of two unused potions, metadata 22 and 23. One enlarges you, the other shrinks you. Both sizes have pros and cons, check them in the thread. Some interesting things:
-When big, if you take fall damage, the ground is broken. Holding shift (at any size) lets you jump half your height instead of just one block; this means, when huge, you do what is essentially a ground pound.
-When small, holding a map and jumping will slow down your fall, allowing you to glide. Also, try the fishing rod! ;) (The latter doesn't work in multiplayer...)
A couple of days ago, grav and I had a lot of fun with it. ^_^ Here's some pics:

...sorry I didn't take many pictures of other stuff. We mostly played around with each other using the potions.

Well if we're talking about our favourite mods,CapeCraft is one I'd recommend. This mod allows you to have a cape of any design you want. You can draw a cape just like drawing a skin, upload the cape to CapeCraft's servers, and boom. You, and anyone else with the mod can see your cape. You can enable and disable it on the servers whenever you like and change your cape around too. They work exactly like the official capes too... well. Besides needing the mod to see them.

Screen 2

Screen 6
Screen 7
If you're not good at drawing, there are premade capes on the website you can choose from (including the mojang and minecon ones). There's a modloader version and a legacy version which does not require modloader. Although I'm not 100% sure what the difference between the two versions are, I'm fairly sure you can see the capes from both versions (the modloader one just adds another class file). I use legacy and would recommend it for convenience if you haven't added modloader to your jar.
I'm personally a fan of non-game changing mods like these so if anyone can recommend more, go for it.
