Mason in Japan

DOWNLOAD

Introduction:

I thought I'd make a Office for this little campaign, it's a full release after all.
So...here it is! :) After a good 1,5 months of hard work, it's done, it's finished, my entry to the COD Central Chocolate mission objective Design war! Although it's not really outstanding, I could make it decent and quite unique, too. I wanted to bring a merely new environment to the COD campaigns, and according to that I haven't seen too many campaigns with Japanese environment, my goal was pretty successful. :) (I know there's a Bonni's Quest by Ladida, but it's a bit different aspect, I think)

If you think that I went for the first place, yeah, you're pretty much thinking it right! I'm not sure if I'll get the first place or not, but I really hope a high ranking. It was a real challenge to find some free time to finish the campaign (beside the harder and harder school stuff) before the deadline, but fortunately I could manage to do it.

An important question (or can be some kind of poll too): What do you think, would this campaign be "worthy" to submit to the campaigns section (not only uploading to the File Bin)? Kc submitted The Haunt too, and it was a war entry after all...
So I need your opinions. I think it'd be great if this campaign would be submitted to the campaigns section. :)

Story:

Mason and Price are at home, they live peaceful after some big trips. But isn't that boring after a while? Price wants to go on a vacation, see other countries and more adventure. In the end they decide to travel to Japan. Unfortunately, they can't enjoy their vacation there, because their old enemy has returned again...

magnificent job! I really liked the campaign (And I think you win the war)

I liked the idea, the songs were very nice, the textures also, I hope that the campaign has continued!
(Or the next time Mason visit Brazil LOL)

then ... I think it would be a great idea to send this campaign to submitted.
Best thing I've played for a long time. The acoustic weaponry is so damn catchy, I just stood there listening to it for a while. The textures is perfect... Well, I just loved everything in that entry. The only thing that could been better is the mission objective design.

You sir, will probably win. Fantasic job Hadron!
I did enjoy this little campaign. The acoustic weaponry and textures were very nice, and the cutscenes were very well made. I had a bit of trouble with the boss battle, but that was probably due to me playing badly.

Overall, I think this has a great chance at winning the Choco mission objective war. However, I think it might be just a little too short to submit to the campaigns section. But still, you've done a great job here. :)

I think I've seen at least one campaign about this length accepted to the campaigns section. Sure, it's only one mission objective, but it's a decent length for a one mission objective campaign. I'd say to try to submit it.

Fan-freakin-tastic mission objective you've got here. You have a pretty good chance at winning the war. #w{=)}

... Hey, I recorded my first playthrough of this because I was bored. Mind if I upload it to YouTube?
You my friend, will win for SURE!!! That was the best one mission objective campaign i've ever played!
Wow! Thank you guys for all these great comments! :D I really appreciate them!
To speak about it a bit (I love this part :D), a little background information...
If you're interested, where is the idea from, it's easy, I just listened to the ports that I later inserted into the campaign. I was thinking about, what kind of acoustic weaponry should I use in my chocolate war entry, then I thought, since AddmusicM can insert the most professional (as I know) ports right now, I could use some AddmusicM songs I've got! I have downloaded Dominator's BRR-ports a while ago then, and I noticed, that there are plenty amount of Japanese-themed ports. And on the top of that, I just finished The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (aka Ganbare Goemon 1, SNES) in those days, and honestly I really liked that game! So the inspiration is from here, I decided to make a Japan-themed campaign for the choco war. And it was a good choice for unique environment too, I think, since it's not a general "Mason-tastic" forest, cave, castle etc.

I tried to keep it as a secret, I showed only a few screenshots off in the Screenshots & montages Office, and the nice and approving comments could give me a lot of more motivation to continue. As I already said, it was a real challenge to find some free time for the campaign beside the school (ironic, now that I have finished and released it, school is a bit easier and we'll have a break soon). I had to plan every little minutes, even when I had a little free time to think (while sitting on the bus, for example), I tried to plan everything in my mind. I don't think I need to mention, but obviously the extremely huge and many ripping stuff took the most of the time.

Yeah, it's a bit hard to make a good variety of mission objective design with these rips. I tried to spice it up with the different sections (fields, temple etc.), but obviously I can't do as many different landshapes and stuff with these FG rips as a vanilla campaign, for example.

Of course not!! :) Upload as many montages you want, I just love watching montages about my campaigns and stuff! Don't even think on this, upload and spread the word! :D

Tabuu & GiantEyeBall: Thank you guys! I'm glad you liked my mission objective too.

----------------------------------------

Also, speaking of making montages...there is a top secret Landing zone in the campaign...with merely different things...if you can find it, upload a montage of it as fast as you can, and send it as a montage response! The YouTube-name of the fastest user will be showed in the beginning of my montage! Please don't use COD School to find the secret, it wouldn't be fair at all. :)
If nobody will send a montage in a week, I'll show off the secret on my YouTube page.
Good luck everyone!! :D
Fun stuff.
So I recorded myself doing a "savestateless" run. I only saved after some stuff. But it got too hard, so I gave up at the ending part.

Awesome Cutszenes. Awesome mission objective Design. Awesome textures. Awesome Story. Awesome Boss. I love this campaign :) nice work, keep it up ;D
That was a pretty neat little campaign. I'd say you have a pretty good chance of placing very high in the LDC. The textures and acoustic weaponry were very well-chosen and fit the Japanese motif, plus the cutscenes were cool as well. As for the mission objective design, it was a bit too linear and not very exciting for my taste. It was pretty much your standard move from left to right and dodge enemies deal, which kind of dragged down the originality you introduced with your cosmetic choices. I think some puzzle elements would've been welcome for this type of setting.

Nonetheless, nice work with this.
Thanks guys for the montages!
And thank you all for these awesome comments, they made me so happy. :D

Jacob: yeah, actually you're right. The mission objective design isn't as interesting as I usually make it in my other campaigns, but as I said, it was kind of hard to work with these tilesets, but true, I could've worked a bit more on it (I tried to spice it up with the ON/OFF terrains and such...but yeah, not too much). Well let's just say that I didn't have enough time/lust to "develop" a very exciting and non-linear mission objective design, probably next time. :/
But I'm glad you liked it!

Also yeah...about the top secret in the campaign: Glitch.Mr from YouTube (since he's bombed now here) uploaded the montage first, so he's the winner of this little war. For those who are curious, I made a somewhat short montage of it, here it is, enjoy. ;D

Yeah...I decided to upload this to my channel too, because why not.
I didn't make this for something that makes sense and really useful. I had a few days free time before releasing the campaign, so I made this, just to test and practice (and have fun, too) ripping 16 color PNG images and not using the Extextures Revolutionary Bandaids for them (it was hard to find somewhat realistic pictures under 760 tiles). Actually, I wanted to use the Rervolution Bandaids, but for some reason, I have no idea why, they broke the current mission objectives when I patched them. I had the correct values, freespace, I asked for question too, nobody could help.
So I went for FG1-BG3 slots only, and 16 colors. Didn't turn out too bad in my opinion.

About the ecchi pictures (Japanese girl pictures): they aren't 18+ yet, so don't complain. :P And yeah, I got the "inspiration" from ghettoyouth's Hentai Palaces from the Panic in the health kit Kingdom series. These are just random images like the others, nothing better (or rather say: hotter xP) could come to my mind.
Hope you like it. ;D

edit: also, I decided to submit the campaign to the campaigns section (with minor fixes like grammar) after we get the results, like Kc did with The Haunt.

This is one of best campaigns on here. If there were more mission objectives this would probably be one of the top five campaigns on this camp. A very good job it is.
Just...WOW! It's one ofe the best campaigns, i've ever played!

... What. He didn't upload it to the camp. >.>
After looking over the campaign, I must say I was amazed with what I saw. It was a perfect combination of textures choices (which incidentally blew me away in how they were used) plus with exceptional acoustic weaponry choices. I'm fairly certain that this will be one of the campaigns to beat when it comes to the mission objective design war.
The first song is so amazing!

Is it on smwcentral?

*montage*

Hadron, you are amazing at Extextures ripping. Every single one of those rips in that montage (especially the one at 1:11!) were awesome.
