Tip: Even though good graphics may make people interested in your hack, what really counts is how fun it is to play.

Actually, maybe. I usually don't have anything against TASers breaking my hacks by wall-jumping, but I suppose there's nothing wrong with using that patch. Still, I often design with the average Kaizo player in mind.
On a semi-related note, I might also do the same with my non-Kaizo hack to cut down on artificial difficulty as well as prevent a break in the turn block level.

noooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! that ruins tasing...

Damn it, don't do it! I get tired of doing the puzzle you want sometimes, so I just walljump through it.
All right, I won't use wall jump fix. But mainly because watching a TAS that looks similar to my own run is kinda boring. Are my levels really that hard that you feel the need to break them by wall jumping? To me, generally, wall jumping is more difficult than solving the puzzle the intended way.

Yeah, I tend to walljump on several hacks. I find it easier to get through sometimes.
I've only walljumped once, on accident. :/

lol. I catch it all the time, and usually dileberately.
Walljumping was hard to me at the first times but after some training I can walljump a few times in a row. Sometimes I do it by accident and sometimes I do it if I fail to jump over something or break a puzzle by walljumping over a high object (I use savestates though). You can keep walljumping in your hack. Some people may break some places if they find them annoying.
The first time I walljumped, it was by accident. I can walljump after some training, but not more than once. Sometimes I stop at the wall when I'm about to walljump, sometimes I fail.

lol this thread is turning into an walljump thread

I can walljump if I have to in a hack, but just one time at the same jump. But I don't want to jump more than 2 times in the same level!

Is this going to turn into the walljump discussion thread or something.

It's the same thing I was thinking lol.
Okay, let me start with something that makes sense:

This screenshot is from the second level of my upcoming kaizo hack, called Rageplant. The gimmick is that you can only jump if you collect coins. Here, I only have one, and I cannot jump until I arrive at a certain point. The moving coins at the right may serve for later, though. There will be possibly an Metroid section in this level.

This is probably one of those gimmicks I'd have to either watch or play for myself to fully understand. Can you only jump while you're collecting the coins, not after or before?
You can only jump while you're collecting the coins.

So you can only jump for a single frame?
Sounds useless.

What the hell are you doing in the Kaizo subforum? You know less than us.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do a sort of thing where a jump costs a coin, and if you have no coins then you can't jump? Or.. is that what it actually does and i'm just confused .-.

What the hell are you doing making fun of someone for asking a good question? I was wondering the same thing myself.

You know less than me when it comes to every other aspect of hacking, what are you doing on this site? (Protip trying to 'banish' someone from a subforum because they're "not good enough" is exactly the opposite of what should be done, the person should be helped to improve, and not looked down at, besides, I'm pretty sure you have no idea what I know about Kaizo)

On another note, my comment was entirely serious, I can't really wrap my head around the idea of only being able to jump -while- you jump, and I'm pretty sure nobody else knows better right now.
I think he means you can only do a jump when you have coins. Every jump will cost you one coin. The jumping physics will not be changed. The only difference will be that you need to pay a coin to do a jump. At least something like this...

This has nothing to do with you, or the question.
