Tip: Unless you've disabled the bonus game, don't use a goal tape in a vertical level. The bonus game won't appear if a player happens to reach 100 bonus stars there.

You're a pretty needy child aren't you?

Maybe some people don't want to put custom music in their hack.

EDIT: Okay, it de-synced a bit, but here it is. Level 1&2
Level 3

You have to insert custom music though.

No no no no NO. While I agree that custom music greatly improves the experience of playing the hack, it is in no way "needed" to making a good hack. I've played amazing hacks where the vanilla soundtrack actually does wonders.

I die without custom music.

K.
I've done quite a bit of work on level 4.
Ownerthugz, I like how the levels are going. The difficuly and design are all really nice. I also like the block tutorial. A couple of criticisms though:

Level 1
- The yellow (blocks, coins) sticks out from the green, maybe you should find a way to change the GFX
- 1:50ish, the vine's color really sticks out. It's kinda blue...

Level 2
- Same as above with yellow stuff sticking out, even more so this time because the level is dark blue
- I don't particularly like the offscreen one tile jump at 3:35ish, it's kinda luck based

Level 3
- Wow, amazing, I can't seem to find a single complaint with your level, Great job.

Overall, it's looking great, keep working at it :)

PS. I see that you followed my color theme hack idea :)...
I won't be changing the blocks' colors because the animations interfere with Mario's palette, unless I'm going mental. But I changed everything else to match the levels' palettes.
There are some palette issues I noticed in the BG in Level 1. See the red circles in the pic below.
That's fixed. Also, this.

Level 4 :D.
Very creative use of the Yellow Koopa.

Loving the custom music.

Wow, this is becoming a really amazing hack :D
I absolutely like this hack! I like the use of the Yellow Koopa in level 4. I have another use of it. :)
Looks very nice so far. I also like the use of the Yellow Koopa. It was pretty creative and I didn't see that before.
Ummmmm, wow. I did not know you could use a yellow koopa like that...

Anyways, really nice level. A couple things though:
- At 1:19, the shelljump to that 1-tile block isn't very obvious. I probably wouldn't have figured out what to do for a couple minutes. Consider a coin trail or something. It's nothin big though.
- I kinda dislike the amount of screenscrolling you have to do get by in this level. I usually hate screenscrolling during gameplay because it's not very clear what you have to and when you have to do it. I don't know, it's just a personal preference of mine.
- The sublevel at 3:00ish needs a palette that goes with its FG. I'm assuming it's still in development though.

That's all I got. It's still looking strong! Keep up the good work. :)

EDIT: You should probably make a thread for this, considering how far it has gone.

1. Put coin trail.

2. I put a coin arrow where you need to screenscroll for the parakoopa. You don't really need to any other place. I only did it to make it easier.

3. Done.
With some effort you can get two free shells in that level (a shell puzzle break at around 0:55 and the green flying koopa while at the chucks). These shells aren't too useful though.

Looks good!

Enjoy!
This is a personal preference rather than a criticism, but I don't much care for the redrawn graphics, especially in a Kaizo/pit hack. Do what you want.
I can't really say much about the level design, so I'll just wait for the video.
The second image's palettes look really ugly, but otherwise it's... Okay, not enjoying the use of redrawn that much.
I actually like the redraw, and the level design looks pretty nice. I personally think that image one could use more creative graphical design, but do what you will.

@GS15:
I think the best palette there is Pic#2.
Preview of my unnamed kaizo hack.

I don't think any kaizo hacker has used Dino Torch & Dino Rhino before.

There will be one part where I'll take advantage of the Dino Rhino in an eating block. I've scrapped Rageplant for no reasons at all.
Wonder how the Dino Rhino thing will turn out.
