Well, read below:
Plot
Mario has heard about the platinum star deep in the perplexing caves of Haluna Island. Haluna Island is far of the coast of Mario's new home, The Boomer Kingdom. He has to venture through mountains, caves, across harsh deserts and seas. But he will get there. And I hope I do too by finishing this hack.

jpg filetype + that background = my eyes being seared.
Anyways, the level itself looks decent. I like the vanilla end castle, simple yet works. Only complaint I got (besides the screenshot quality) is the Yoshi's graphics are very detailed against the smw graphics and cartoonish background.

Comments on your stuff:
@ Plot: Many interesting names for the places, but the goal is the same as most other hacks, find a sacred star.
@ Check list: Explain the color codes
@ Pictures: You could made a video about that level istead of posting 24 pictures with almost the same content. The level look decent for a first level.
- The gradient in the BG is cool, but the hills and clouds could need some more work and some darker colors. An advice would be to never use black borders (in this case the clouds) in the BG as it can confuse the FG.
- Try to use something else than cement blocks as pipe conections, it just too overused. The same thing goes for the castle structure in after goal point.
- Walking trough small pipes is cool, but it may look odd if you don't set layer priority on the tiles next to the pipe. Also, this is a path only small mario can walk, so if you're big mario, you'll need to take a hit just for the sake of it.
- Add more decorations on the level design, bushes, grass in the dirt etc.
- The icy pipe palette doesn't fit rest of the black border plaettes.
This is only meant as help, no worries!

Red: Done,
Cyan: Doing through out the hack.
Pink. Not done.
I'll see what I can do about pipe connections and castle end.
Is this ok?

Yeah, seems ok to me. But, you could perhaps use more fg+bg decorations in the level.
Edit: Lvl. Up! Skeleton, just in time for Halloween!

I know it's about a month since my last update, but to be honest, I haven't bothered to upload screenshots. BTW all the screenshots above are outdated because I wasn't hppy with my levels so I revamped them. but still. I'm working on the animation at the moment and wondering what you think.

? Blocks are not finsihed.
So what do ya think.
EDIT: Videos will be here soon.

I'm not really too hot about that custom Goomba sprite, but the rest of it looks kinda nifty. Everybody loves a good mess of pipes.

I was considering the goomba graphics, but I can't find any good ones.

You can always give the Goombas from the Super Mario All-Stars versions of SMB1 and SMB3 a try. Also, since a lot of your hack seems to use vanilla content, the regular SMW Goombas wouldn't be that bad of a choice either.

No but when I record it in ZSNES, it saves at as a ZMV or whatever file type. I want it to save as an avi. I had a PM once saying how to do it but I dleted it a long time ago.

Then record it with camstudio or hypercam. Just play the video while recoding.

Hypercam makes ZSNES really slodown for some unknown reason.

Try downloading camstudio then. It works a lot faster then hypercam, and doesn't cause that much slowdown.

You can either select the compression 'Microsoft Video 1', or import the files into Windows Movie Maker (UNCHECK 'MAKE CLIPS'), and Publish it with default settings.
