I assume that making a sequel to the (now dead) War II wouldn't be a problem, but just in case, is it okay if I do that?

KoreanWonderBoy: Yes to the middle game.
.Henix.: Yes.
Vinnyboiler: No. Games need a little more thought than just streams of one-word replies. Try to elaborate on the concept a bit more.

A suggestion: pretty much the SMW video challenge but with hacks
I'll ask permission if I need to.

Unfortunately, the SMW Challenge has a section for hacks. Like there's a Non-TAS category and a TAS (tool-assisted) category.
But I honestly don't think it'd be an issue if there's another competition with different challenges for the levels, starting once again at Yoshi's Island 1....

Really? The first post in the thread doesn't mention it, and Dot's website only lists challenges for the original SMW.

KWB: emulator tools =/= hacks. Hacks as in Super Demo World or SMWCP.
You have my okay for this, I really don't mind the similarity.

Cool
I'll make the thread after I come up with a challenge.

I would like to design a 'for laughs' game called 'Rollercoaster'. The objective of the game is to make a never ending roller coater. Each poster draws an image of a new part relating to the last image. The beauty of the game is that it can be as crazy as you want providing the passangers can't die. It's a bit out there but I think heavy thinking games are getting on a bit now...

I approve this on one condition: along with the roller-coaster drawings, have the posters comment on the coaster's progress (i.e. "The coaster flew along the cutoff and out-of-proportion tracks, racing through the [insert part of drawing here]!" It would add more liveliness to the game.

I have another idea:
Game Name: Random Level building
Rules: I open the sign-ups and close them after an amount of time. Then everyone sends me a PM with a picture with one screen of an short level sequence he made. I will tell at the beginning which tileset, sprites and so on the player has to use. After I got atleast [insert any number here] PM's with one screen with level design with it, I will announce that nobody has to send me PM's anymore. I will put the screens in the order I got the PM's, and will put the final screen that only includes a ledge, the goal tape and the goal line. I will edit them if parts are impossible, and at the end of the round I post the level screen. Then it shows an [insert number here] screens long level, and anyone has to rate level with a number from 1 to 10. Then the second round starts, and so on. Levels with an rate higher than 8 will be added to the first post and will be given a name.

That sounds like a really neat idea.
Game approved.

"You Know You're Addicted to ROM hacking when..." I think this would be a pretty fun game to play as many people here are hard core ROM hacking
enthusiasts (such as me) and these users could come up with some pretty amusing posts.
The rules are no flaming, no off-topicness and no spamming. Oh and the general site rules apply

Yes. Approved. And rather than have you wait until Alcaro comes back online, I'll just open the thread for you.

Since my RPG game is running strong at over 1000 posts, I've been having the enthusiasm to start another one.
Basically, the name of the game (the literal one undecided as of now), is to make it as far into the game as possible. Everyone has items in their Inventory which I keep track of, and they can check to see what items they have.
There's enemies and weapons and fights and stuff. Seeing as it's a sort of game that just progresses as it advances, it's pretty hard to explain.
The biggest problem is that it involves thinking, and games like that don't really catch the attention of most users.
As I'm writing this post, it doesn't even seem like giving a shot, but I want to see if it's okay in the first place.

For now, I'm disapproving the game because I think running one massive game is enough work as it is. Once that game dies down, come back here and propose your idea again (and maybe work out a few kinks while you're at it), and I'll grant you permission.

This is an interactive RPG adventure in which four separate users can join, at least during one time. Each user must draw a character. It doesn't matter the quality and detail of the design. If you provide an artist's detail, you may get the exact character design you want. If it is very badly drawn in MS Paint, you may lose the potential to get the exact character inside the interior of your imagination slot. You must list the character's name, sex, personality, and other things. You can only make a protagonist, no NPCs or anything like that. If a user's character dies, he/she is kicked permanently from the game. I control the main protagonist and all the antagonists, NPCs, and cutscene dialog. The interactive adventure is image based, and each image must not exceed 256 KB. Once a user's character dies and the user is kicked from the game, the party must return to the nearest explored city for a funeral for their fallen comrade, then another user can join in the middle. If the main protagonist dies, the adventure fails and the thread closes.
Now before TL, DR-ing me, read it once more from the beginning.

The image edit game: I make 5 random things, and someone edits them and makes them funny. They have to draw on it, no pasting pictures from the web or camera.
