Hello and welcome to my C3 thread, folks!
So...I ripped graphics. A lot. Scroll down and enjoy these nice looking backgrounds and foregrounds!
Oh..and of course you can download all of them. =) I hope you can find a good use of these rips.
(Sorry, no updates for The Big Boo's Legion 2 now. I don't have many updates to show, since I couldn't really work on it in the past few months. But after this C3 I'm going to continue it on full speed!)
Castlevania: Dracula X - Stage 3 BG

Good for castles, temples, mysterious indoor places.
Download link
Castlevania: Dracula X - Stage 7 (inside) BG

Good for dark temples.
Download link
Castlevania: Dracula X - Stage 7 BG

For evil outdoor levels. Good for a pre-final, or "nearing the castle level".
Download link
Castlevania: Dracula X - Underwater Cave FG

Good for an underground temple, or some ruins. I left some blank spaces in the Map16 Page, so you can select them as objects in Lunar Magic 1.8+.
Download link
The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse - Snowy Valley BG

Good for generic snowy areas, especially night levels.
Download link
Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse - Forest BG

Great for generic forest and lakeside forest levels. The HDMA is added just for the visuals, the graphics obviously don't contain it.
Download link
Prince of Persia 2: Shadow of the Flame (SNES) - Arabian House BG

It's a nice background if you want to make an arabian city or something like that...
Obviously the HDMA gradient isn't in the graphics, I just added it for the better visuals.
Download link
Asterix & Obelix - Lakeside BG

A wonderful background from Asterix & Obelix. Great for lakeside levels (pretty obvious), and other beautiful natural levels. Warning: it uses a pretty huge Map16 space.
Obvioulsy the background doesn't contain the HDMA gradient, I just inserted it for a better brackground an more visual effects. However, I suggest you useing a gradient (fake or not fake HDMA), since this background can be a bit boring with only 1 color in the background.
Download link
Asterix & Obelix - Snowy Mountains BG

A great background for ice themed mountain levels. It's good because it uses only 1 palette row, however, it takes up a pretty big Map16 space.
Download link
Asterix & Obelix (SNES) - The Pyrenees BG

Great for some mountain levels or seaside levels. Note that the pack doesn't contain the gradient from the screenshot, it's obviously a HDMA gradient. Actually, it's wise to add a HDMA background to this BG, it looks a lot of better.

Demon's Crest - Ovnunu's Lair FG & BG

(Click to see full size image)
A great cave rip for scary and abandoned cave levels. However, it uses a lot of palettes. It's the full rip of the first area.
NOTE: Don't forget to set the FG/BG index to 3 (Underground 1, otherwise the ceiling slopes won't work properly!

Demon's Crest - Water Castle BG & FG

(Click to see full size image)
This is the complete rip of the inside of Water Castle from Demon's Crest. Good for scary places, ruins, maybe even for a final castle. Or lakeside abandoned castles.
Download link
Demon's Crest - Ice Mountain BG

Great for night mountain levels.
Download link
Demon's Crest - Tower (outside) BG

Good for m00ny night levels. Best if you set both horizontal and vertical scrolling to none.
Download link
Final Fantasy VIj - Phantom Forest BG

A quite special looking forest background. It's good because it uses only 1 palette row.
NOTE: this background is horizontal scrolling only!

So...that's it, I guess. I hope you'll enjoy using these rips. Have a nice day!
Special thanks to edit1754 for the amazing BG ripper tool! Without that these rips couldn't have been made.

Great job, Hadron! Most backgrounds you ripped have a graphical style very close to what I'm looking for, so I'll most likely end up using one or two of these in my hack.

Wow! Thank you guys for these great comments. I'm really glad that you like them.
I just made a showcase video to show how they really "work" in-game.
<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MHtYvq_7aRc?fs=1&hl=hu_HU"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MHtYvq_7aRc?fs=1&hl=hu_HU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Aqualakitu: haha, have fun. ;P And all of them work, I suppose.

They look nice, I think they are too realistic for Mario games thought, but I guess it won't be a problem if the sprite, and character's graphics are changed as well. Nice job.

You, sir, are amazing. I love the graphical styles of Demon's Crest and have always wanted to see a couple rips from it. Out of curiosity were you able to get some parallax working with the Ice Background? I know the original game had it in some way by dividing the sky, mountains, and lower fields. Anyways just curious on that.
Great rips nonetheless.

Excellent! These rips would contribute not only to those unique levels, but all the generic-styled levels as well that simply need a background of a particular theme. I hope to see these new sets of graphics used a bit more along with the other ones on the site.
