Yes, I'm fully aware of that, but I only used about 45.

Oh well. Guess this is a problem that will remain unsolved for now. It could be a simple object issue I'm overlooking, or something. I kind of wish I hadn't have taken a 1.5 year leave from hacking this game now since I seem to have fallen behind on a lot.

Problems remain and can occurr anytime you save the ROM in Golden Egg, since the program relocates the level upon saving it, even if the free space is fully sufficient to store the data. Hex-comparing a working backup with the corrupted one could be insightful.
(Wait, SNN is hacking YI again? That was unexpected.)

If you're interested, here's a quick list of YI hacking developments in the last year and a half, in no particular order:

- Romi's release of Golden Egg
- Yoshis Fan's Eggvine v0.81+ modification (much better than the previous Eggvine; now sort of obsolete due to Golden Egg, though Yoshis Fan and I still use it)
- Documentation of various header settings
- Editing sprite sets
- Editing the title screen logo
- The release of Golden Yoshi Returns
- A large assortment of random things in the SMW2 offsets and helpful info thread (mostly thanks to tehaxor69)
- My updated FAQ
- The creation of a YI hacking wiki, though it doesn't contain much yet
- Various SMA3 hacking developments (including adolif2's SNES-to-GBA level converter, still in progress)
- Maybe some other things I forgot, especially if they happened when I was still new here or before I registered.
How i can change messages?
Where can I find the newest Golden Egg version?
There hasn't been a new version since you went inactive.

I had stopped hacking YI because it was too hard for me to make a YI hack. Now I want to start again.

Oh, I see. Either way, you can just download it from the first post of this thread.
Thank you :)
when r u going to put the new version of golden egg on the web
In case this is new to you:
Romi hasn't been online for 5 1/2 months now, so it's unlikely that a new version of Golden Egg will be uploaded in the near future. You got two options:

- Wait for the next release (which could take months/years/or will never happen)
- Be satisfied with the possibilities Golden Egg has to offer right now.

Well, unfortunately Golden Egg is still in its Beta and has a chance to mess up your levels, thus I'm still using EggVine v0.81+ in order to edit my levels. Furthermore Golden Egg can't handle custom objects, which I use in my hack. Knowledge of how the game's data is stored is required in order to expand the amount of bytes each level can consist of. Furthermore, EggVine only features rectangles, which represent the objects. It's definitely harder to edit the game using EggVine, but it's also safer.
can u add a editor in golden egg to change the sprites offset to make a sprite in a level with a totally different sprite

and

and a heart sprite so u can make your own simple boss with a normal sprite

Only romi can actually do that in GoldenEgg.
As Romi said, though, he is unlikely to update Golden Egg in the near future.
However, tehaxor69 is working on an all-around editor for Yoshi's Island, too. And seeing how good tehaxor69 is at hacking, it is going to be a pretty awesome one, if he really finishes it.
Its good that tehaxor69 is working on a new editor, but how come Romi gave up? Golden egg is still in it's BETA stages and hasn't even reached the General availability stage..

And its a bit redundant that 3 editors for YI have and are been produced, although I would really like tehaxor69's editor to be released.
I guess romi lost the motivation on continuing this project. Or he hasn't that much freetime to develop it further.

Let's hope that txhaxor69 will release a full version.
He doesn't have the time, he didn't give up.

Well, at least Romi said this:

But I think this year will be hard time to me, so I suppose I can't make any progress after all. Hopefully, I'll have time next year, but at worst I will not. :/

EggVine is not developed anymore at all and it's pretty user-unfriendly, so yeah a new editor had had to be done. Then Romi released Golden Egg and now he's hardly working on it, so tehaxor69 decided to make one, too, since nobody wants to wait years for updates for Golden Egg. The question now is, what will its name be?
EggMacic?
EggTree?
PlatinumEgg?
I hope there's a Mac OS X version for it, and I also hope there are sprite graphics for it.
Eggvine/Golden egg advance is a good name for it and yes, tehaxor69 stated that the MAC OS is the editor's primary system although a windows version is apparently being developed also.

BG1/BG2/BG3 and BG4 layers are going to be seen in-editor judging by a reply he sent me when I asked him about the editor...

"The editor will display BG1, BG2, BG3, BG4(See the room before Bowser), and the Sprites
It will render Raphael the Ravens level. Animate tiles, palettes.

It definitely will be user friendly.

Another feature I will implement, I will add a drop down list at the top of the screen that allows you quickly switch between all the connecting level parts.

The GBA ROM can be expanded to 32MB, and will allow ExtendedGFX and palettes."
