Great. A lot of people don't, and I'm simply telling you to expect a negative response on this overall.

Fair enough.

YouTube hacks are made by people who open LM once, rearrange stuff to learn the ropes, and post it thinking no one has ever hacked before and they are a legend. Out of genuine attempts at release, yes, that was the worst thing I've ever played.
</div></div>
Including all the other rejected hacks? Like with stacked and floating Munchers? But never the less, who cares, I have no interest in that old hack any more.
Originally posted by cheat-master30For example, if you want something interesting, tell me exactly why say, his Bow boss, or Dark Lich, or Arch Demon, or Dragon Emperor boss is badly coded from a programmer's perspective. I can hand out the ASM.
Writing to the VRAM during a blank would cause crashes. That's just one example. I sure hope Carol gave you explicit permission to distribute those bosses as well
</div></div>
I shall test them in BSNES then. I never knew about all the glitches though.
Originally posted by cheat-master30So you're saying dahnamics, LinksDarkArrows and Azentiger need psychiatric help? That's very nice of you.
Way to read into my post literally. Perhaps I'll use the term "I'd love to know what they consider bad" then.
For Azentiger, he considers exactly three things truly bad:
Anything by PJReed
Super Mario Bros Crossover the hack
Mario's in Terror
I warned him not to play the last after getting burned by it myself after I played it expecting a good hack because it looked like it had Brutal Mario graphics.

Oh, and no, I didn't post the same video twice. It was comparing carol's boss of Dumb Drum to the original game's version.
That was before you edited it, yeah.
I know, I screwed up. I didn't notice as such until I looked down to see what people were on about while posting a reply.

You know, all people here want to do is help you improve the hack. It's sort of unfortunate that everything is taken as "pure negativity". Believe it or not, people here aren't stupid, and they've all played as many Mario games as those so-called "theorists" (I just laugh each time that word is used). Their opinion holds as much weight as others, with the added fact that the majority of commenters have been hacking for years. Perhaps you should actually consider that "Hey! I can either improve some aspects of this hack, or make a hack of my own accord but ultimately end up disappointed when 99% of people hate it!"
I know people want to help, it's just I'd appreciate it if people were constructive about it. Many people here were, some just took it way too far.
I think Extroble was quite polite about it. You were honestly fairly polite with your criticism. The people who just said 'this will suck' and that's it were completely useless with the criticism, because they didn't say what.
I do try to improve the hack. Every time someone mentions something, I'll try and fix what they think is wrong. Most of the images in this hack are technically oudated, because I fixed the issues but didn't bother to upload a new image.
In fact, for your sanity, you might as well ignore the first eight pages of screenshots as irrelevant.
I am considering how to improve this hack. Heck, if someone would be kind enough to write the ways to make it become a great hack in a simple list, I'd probably implement everything on said list.
Can we please draw a ceasefire on this whole thing? It's honestly not going to go anywhere other than an argument the way this topic is going.
Oh, and... well, keep in mind I tend not to be an ideas person. Period, all my ideas for fan work, whether it be fan fiction, art, games or projects entirely consist of stuff from other games. I consider myself able to write, but not a fiction person/story teller. That's why so much is from other games, because I like to relive my childhood somewhat.

I never really considered this a major "argument". I just don't personally agree with nearly any of your philosophies, and I know the majority of others don't. We're even pretty passive until something out of line is said. This site always encourages people making whatever kind of hacks they want, but if you're making this one specifically for the Japanese community, expect a lot of negativity,as I said - especially because the majority of people (even the ones who love the J bosses) consider said hacks terribly designed.
If you actually want some LEVEL DESIGN comments, you'll need to show actual LEVEL DESIGN, rather than said clashing bosses. Otherwise, you're just going to continue getting negative responses, and you'll continue getting frustrated.
I have nothing further to add. I believe the point has been made on both sides of the spectrum.

*Keep in mind, im ignoring everything other users have said about your hack*
Well this hack looks......well, its kinda of a show-off of ExGFX and Custom Sprites, really.
I have no problem with that but if thats the case then is not gonna be a good hack to play! and that leads us to the levels.
Your screens looks bland, excluding the Graphics and sprites there isnt anything that tells me this hack is worth playing really, and its very un-organized too. Wich one is Level-1? What overworld is that, the first? why is there a big bowser in the middle of the screen? you know it just loses interest.
I now this is your final hack, but dont you think it qould be a better idea if you make something original so that people can remember you did atleats a great hack? you also want Raocow to think you are an awesome hacker just by putting other people work on your hack. Really? Raocow is not that stupid.
Overall, this is just as appealing as a Youtube hack :/.

I probably should have waited until the levels were closer to done to have made this topic, all things considered.
Not saying some aren't, but I'm pretty much gonna stop posting in this topic until I can show more of a level now, because it's obvious my attempts to keep the design secret are backfiring pretty badly.
I wish I'd known how badly Japanese hacks are looked down upon here before starting this topic now.
And honestly, I think we should probably forgive each other for this disagreement now, because I've decided it's too pointless to consider holding a grudge about something said a few months back. Maybe I should stop defending others as well and let people like dahnamics fight their own battles.
Oh, and whatever you do, please try not to bother dahnamics or any of the people I mentioned in this topic. I don't want their sites or Youtube channels or whatever filled with nasty comments and such like, or any mocking them for 'bad taste'.
Consider this the end of the topic until actual release date in the far future.

One year with no posts and an inactive creator maybe mean this hack is on eternal ice.
