georgevssonic likes the graphics. He also thinks you should stop updating your hack in the hacks waiting to be modded section every second. He thinks that takes to much room. He also thinks this way of talking is childish. Why did I he strike that?

Yoshi doesn't plan on making a version 1.3 until yoshi makes four worlds and has the entire overworld planned out, which could be a month from now. Yoshi made v1.1 because yoshi saw a video of someone playing the original version of yoshi's hack and wanted to fix the problems yoshi didn't notice through playtesting. Yoshi made v1.2 because v1.1 was unplayable due to mario being stuck on the test map.

(Did you know that yoshi was potrayed as childish in the Super Mario World cartoon? That, and the fact that I myself am a little childish, is why my posts come off as childish. If you want to see how yoshi talked in the cartoon, just copy and paste the URL to Yoshiart.com I provided in one of my previous posts in this thread.)

Edit: Since yoshi's hack has been removed, v1.3 will fix most, if not all of the problems v1.2 has. V1.4 will be the four world hack. (Unless v1.3 is removed.)

So thats why we talk liek that. Now I get it. Also good luck with the hack then!
Thank you for that comment georgevssonic, oh and good luck on anything you may be working on. Yoshi has been watching videos of bad hacks and reading the hack removal logs to see what is unacceptable in hacks. Yoshi is inspired by these hacks to do the opposite of what they do. So even if yoshi's hack isn't the best, you can be sure that yoshi will avoid most of the bad stuff that yoshi sees in those hacks. As a side note, for those hacks that have a lot, and yoshi means a lot, of obvious problems in them, yoshi thinks the creators do it on purpose or they simply don't care about the rules here. Obviously that's not always the case, but sometimes it seems so.

So how is everyone enjoying yoshi's hack? Is there anything yoshi can do to improve it for the next demo? Yoshi began working on the overworld yesterday, and wow is this going to be tedious. Yoshi feels that yoshi bit off more than yoshi can chew, and yoshi can chew a lot. But if a custom overworld is better than an unedited overworld, then yoshi will make one either way. Yoshi doesn't have any screenshots yet for it, but yoshi will have some screenshots when the overworld is finished.

Ok, let's get started. This hack was way better then I thought. I realy liked the graphics and the music was selected very well. Now, I have found some errors, here they are:
I know you didn't make an OW yet, but you could atleast ask someone to make it. The star doesn't fit.
and Notice how the note block's pallete changes when I jump on it and when not? It's weird.
The part where the mushroom meats the dirst of another, creates a weird pallete.
http://bin.smwcentral.net/36898/Flat.bmp Some parts of your levels were pretty bland. Add more decorations and more levels of highth.
Bad lava pallete.
I know this looks a bit like Cassis, but the pallete could use some work. Also, your message box starts one line lower then normal.
Awful coin pallete.
and Have grey cement block spam. Pretty ugly right?
This needs to get fixed badly. You used the insanely fast AutoScroll. It's so fast, I can't even jump.
This is minor, but you used the bottom row of LM, wich doesnt appear in the game.
Overall: Good hack man!
10204307 doesn't like cement spam, name, Redrawn, and overworld
also third person speak annoys 10204307

The hack got removed, yoshi. So check out your PM inbow or go to the hack removals.
Thank you georgevssonic for pointing out those things. Yoshi will fix them all for the next demo. Here is what I have to say to each one (in the order of your comments):

- Yoshi was originally going to use the test map as the overworld, but yoshi thought that was too plain and boring, so yoshi decided to temporarily use the Star Road map as the overworld. Yoshi is working on an overworld, but if I don't have the will to do it, then yoshi will post the world names and ask someone to do it, like you suggested.

- Yoshi noticed that too. Yoshi changed all the note block graphics to the same thing, so yoshi doesn't know why it does that. Maybe yoshi should check the graphics file again.

-Yoshi didn't notice that, yoshi will fix that. These levels aren't set in stone. While they do work, yoshi will add or change things to the levels to make them more fun, interesting, or less bland.

- Originally, that bridge was half bridge, half used coin block. If you hit the P-Switch, a ton of coins would appear over the bridge, but half the bridge would also disappear. Yoshi noticed that it created cut-off, so yoshi changed the bridge. Since mario can no longer touch the boiling mud, yoshi might as well remove it.

- Soda Lake is level 1 in Lunar Magic, so yoshi used the palette it was already set to, But yoshi will change that and the message block flaw. By the way, did you find the second message block in that level to be funny?

- Yoshi noticed that. Yoshi will replace the purple coins with something else. By the way, did you know that yoshi put those coins there for a reason? As for the cement block spam, some of those cement blocks in Forest Ride used to be floating munchers. Even though cement blocks are better than floating munchers, yoshi will replace the cement blocks with something else.

-Yoshi is aware that yoshi used the super fast scrolling speed for Frost Cave, because yoshi wanted to make a fast paced and somewhat challenging level. Yoshi knows mario can't jump when the screen scrolls at a certain speed, but that is why yoshi broke the level up into sections. Also, once the screen scrolls fast enough so that mario can't jump, there aren't any enemies or obstacles that mario has to jump over anyway unti you reach the pipe (or a wall). Yoshi tested that level more than the others to see if it was doable, and it is. Here is a hint, if you found the P-switch, the best time to press it is a bit before you see the first charging chuck in the second section.

-That slope, that mario is standing on in the screenshot, continues offscreen. How yoshi sees it, if a slope goes offscreen, then the part near where the slope disappears is safe. If a cliff goes offscreen, then it is not going to be safe offscreen. Usually, when yoshi hears about "Use of the bottom row", it usually is flat ground that is offscreen, not sloped. Either way, yoshi will try to fix that.

Oh and thank you for playing yoshi's hack.

Edit: Yoshi got Ninji'd

Update: Uh oh! Yoshi's hack have been removed! Yoshi will read the removal log and fix the flaws and submit v1.3. (That Metal Gear style quote was intentional, it wasn't a typo)

Yes, the problem, where is the P-Switch?

Ok, good luck!
This hack certainly has potential. Though I'm not particularly interested now, Yoshi seems to have some very good ideas. I'll keep my eyes on this hack!
TheGamer thinks that the hack needs to improve a bit, but it's pretty good for your first hack. TheGamer is looking forward to this hack. good luck.
Yoshi has made most of the improvements that were mentioned by georgevssonic and in the hack removal log. All yoshi has to do now is test it out and make a couple of new screenshots before yoshi uploads it.

Edit: Yoshi got Ninji'd, again.
OneChanceSpeedrunner think this look fun, fun, fun for a first hack! OneChanceSpeedrunner also like the choise of Yoshi grapichs! But OneChanceSpeedrunner thinks TheGamer is right you should to improve a bit. Other than that OneChanceSpeedrunner thinks this looks promesing!:D
GeorgeVsSonic Hopes yoshi can improve his work nicely and he continues on this awesome hack. GeorgeVsSonic also thinks that it's great that yoshi fixed all the problems GeorgeVsSonic pointed out. GeorgeVsSonic also hopes yoshi likes being ninji'd. It happens alot yknow.
Yoshi has just resubmitted Super Mario World Custom 2 v1.3 (which I accidentally forgot to put the v1.3 in the name). Yoshi has been busy in the last hour playtesting, so that yoshi can find any major problems with the levels. Yoshi is now sure that this will be accepted, but you can never really tell. The full list of changes are in the readme. Like before, if there are any problems, tell me here and yoshi will fix them.

To answer your question about the P-Switch georgevssonic, the P-switch can be found by using one of the pipes in the first section of Frost Cave (Not the one you must enter to beat the level.)

Oh and yoshi made a new screenshot and took a new version of an existing one. Here they are:

From the makers of Deadly Grape Soda comes Acid Coke. What will they think of next?

(Hey! You got my Yoshi's Island in your Super Mario World!)

Even though v1.2 of yoshi's hack was deleted, the person who wrote the removal log for it said that it was well designed considering that it was a first hack. Yoshi feels that all that browsing of this site and the comments some people have made are paying off. If it wasn't for all the help, you would see things like floating munchers and bland level design. At one point, yoshi had an idea to make a level with only glitched graphics, but yoshi quickly discarded that idea after learning that that was a bad idea. Also, Muncher Forest was originally an area filled with nothing but munchers, but now it is free of all floating munchers.

Update: Yoshi forgot to mention, but another thing yoshi is going to do in the hack is write silly and/or interesting messages in the message blocks. Some will give out tips in a not-so-obvious way (Mario's Fortune Today), some will have to do with the hack in some way (The second message block of Soda Lake comes to mind), some will give out warnings to silly obstacles (Acid Coke, anyone?), and some will make a reference to something else or put a new twist on a classic quote (Yoshi makes a reference to the Super Mario World Cartoon when you free him). Yoshi will see what yoshi can do to make this hack funny while following the hack submission guidelines.

Update: Yoshi isn't going to be able to post or work on the hack for a couple of days, since yoshi has to go spend some time with yoshi's relatives. Yoshi will be back on monday. Oh and happy New Year everyone.

Yoshi has been kidnapped by ninjas! Was anyone a bad enough dude to rescue yoshi? Yoshi is kidding. Yoshi found out today that someone wanted to do a Let's Play on yoshi's hack. Yoshi will allow him to do that. Unlike the last time yoshi saw a video of someone playing yoshi's hack, yoshi won't make a version 1.4 that fixes the errors of version 1.3, unless the hack is removed from this site, an instant removal reason is discovered (I am pretty sure there isn't any), or yoshi finishes demo 2 of Super Mario World Custom 2.

Oh and yoshi thought about the overworld, and yoshi decided that an interesting custom overworld is going to be too difficult for yoshi to make. Yoshi isn't sure if yoshi should post that request here or on the request page (Is a request for a custom overworld too big to go in the request section or do all requests, no matter what, go in the request section?). Yoshi will post what was planned for the overworld once yoshi is sure where yoshi should post the request. Either way, nobody can take that on until yoshi posts the details here. Oh and yoshi will give credit to whoever makes the overworld for yoshi's hack once yoshi posts the details.
I definatly think requesting an OW is a too big of a request.
Also it can be bad to plan your levels around an overworld as for exampl you want and ice level but there is no icy places on the OW, you couldnt stick it in a desert. XD
Yoshi is aware that levels themes should match the theme of the area where the level is placed. If necessary, yoshi will change the level themes for some stages if yoshi can't fit them anywhere. For example, if yoshi could not fit Forest Ride anywhere for some reason, yoshi could rename it Cavern Ride, change the background and foreground graphics to match the new theme, possibly change the enemy graphics, and maybe change the music. The only time you would see mismatched level themes on the overworld, in yoshi's hack, is if yoshi made a special world of some kind. As for the request, yoshi either needs to find something in the forum about requests or someone should post a definite answer to yoshi's question here. Thanks for the help anyway, 1UPdudes.

Update: Shortly after yoshi started making more levels, yoshi discovered that level 104 (Yoshi's House) had slightly messed up graphics. Yoshi fixed it by changing the theme of the level to nighttime. Here is the end result:

(Aww! Yoshi is cute while asleep. Please do not wake him.)

Before anyone tells yoshi, yes, yoshi knows that changing level 104 changes the default ending. Which means that yoshi watched the ending several times in order to fix any glitched graphics that may appear. Yoshi managed to do that finally. (For some reason, the sleeping yoshi's nose bubble is fine normally, yet it glitches in the ending. What it turns into, an "N" and an up arrow, isn't even a part of any of the graphics files assigned to that level. Hopefully I can fix that before the final version.) What confuses yoshi is that, when yoshi used the graphics files that were used originally in level 104 (I looked at a clean ROM for that), the ending was glitched. When yoshi changed the files so that the ending didn't glitch, the message box, birds, fire, and smoke became glitched, so yoshi had to remove them. Yoshi plans on making level 104 accessable at some point. Currently, in v1.3, it is inaccessable and unaltered (besides the slight graphical problem).

1000 views already? Anyway, yoshi figured out how the graphics for the ending are handled. It looks like if you bypass the original graphics for level 104, it screws up the sprite graphics in level 104 during the ending. Also, yoshi is having a problem with one of the new levels. When mario goes from the summer version of the level to the winter version, part of mario's body becomes glitchy and all the enemies disappear. If mario goes back into the pipe, instead of going to level 23 (which is where the pipe is assigned to take mario), it takes him to level C8, where mario falls off screen and leaves the level. Then it takes him to the Vanilla Dome. Yoshi doesn't get why this is happening. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this, let yoshi know.
