That link up there is to show you what yoshi ment by cutoff in the overworld. When yoshi submitted v1.2 of Super Mario World Custom 2, yoshi didn't notice any cutoff in the overworld, yet one of the moderators did, and it was barely noticeable. Yoshi was a little surprised that someone noticed it, even when yoshi didn't see it. It isn't that big of a deal though, just thought yoshi would point that out, though.

Things are going great with the hack currently. Yoshi already has two worlds set up, though it will take awhile before v1.4 is finished because yoshi now has to make more levels. Right now, there are 11 levels finished (not including Yoshi's House, the item shop, the finished levels that aren't reachable yet, and the end of demo level.) There is space for about 20 more levels, so yoshi is about a 1/3 of the way there before yoshi finishes v1.4 (v1.4 will be the halfway point with this hack, it's not the full game.)

Ok. One question: Can I betatest your hack? I will point out all the errors like the time I did before.

EDIT: There goes 600.

Go right ahead georgevssonic. Just like before, yoshi will give comments to each thing you point out and fix any flaws you notice.
I wouldn't mind making a few levels.
I could make weird levels or you could tell me what kind of levels to make.
I just finished the demo and I must say: it was pretty fun.
Yoshi doesn't really need help with making levels for yoshi's hack. Oh and thanks for playing yoshi's hack.

Yoshi has a bit more to show for Super Mario World Custom 2. Here are some more screenshots:

Using Maxwell's Notebook, yoshi made cold lava for this stage. Hey! Mario! Did you even read the warning? It clearly said not to touch the cold lava!

Chuck, don't even think about it. Don't you dare.

Of course. He had to wake the fish up. What's his problem?
Yoshi also made a few changes to some stages. For example, in Frost Cave, Yoshi made all parts of that level have the same music and theme. Yoshi has made three more stages since yesterday as well.

Update: Yoshi has completed world 3 in Super Mario World Custom 2. All that is left is world 4, where yoshi will end this demo. Can Yoshi finish 12 more levels and test the entire hack?

Yoshi has been working hard on this hack, which means that v1.4 of yoshi's hack is almost done. Yoshi has around six levels to go now.
Like yoshi said in a previous post, yoshi is trying to find ways of making this funny or at least odd. For example, one of the new levels that yoshi has made so far has a pretty strange hazard in it. Anyone playing yoshi's hack won't know what it is until you see it. Yoshi won't say what it is here, however. Yoshi has a few more ideas for levels with strange hazards in them or odd concepts.

A note to georgevssonic: Hows the beta testing of yoshi's hack going?
If you are beta testing yoshi's hack, yoshi wants you to post any flaws you found in the hack here soon. Yoshi wants to fix the flaws of v1.3 (that I didn't know about) before yoshi submits v1.4. If you aren't beta testing the hack, let me know and yoshi will submit v1.4 once it's finished and playtested.
JDC notices you use the original palettes for your hack. JDC thinks this hack will look better if custom palettes are added. Aside from that, JDC thinks the hack still looks fairly generic.

Keep up the good work, though. JDC likes the idea for the winter/summer level. JDC thinks you seem have good ideas for your hack, all you need to do now is perhaps work on the level design more.

For the most part, yoshi uses the original palettes for the levels, but some levels do use custom palettes or at least certain things in some levels use custom palettes. Yoshi will use custom palettes when it is definetly required to make the level look good. In that picture of yoshi's house, the sleeping yoshi uses a custom palette, for example.

One thing that may set this hack apart from most of the other hacks on this site is that it is going to be silly or at least have its silly moments. The silly moments come from either the obstacles mario has to face, or from the messages. Like yoshi said in yoshi's previous post, one of the new levels contains a strange hazard in it. It managed to turn a rather ordinary level into one of the stranger levels in the hack. Yoshi will try to think outside the box to come up with interesting levels for this hack.

Update: Yoshi decided to make more of an effort to use custom palettes in the hack. Don't worry, yoshi won't make palettes that will make your eyes bleed.

Yoshi has some more things to say about the hack today. First, yoshi used more custom palettes. Yoshi didn't go crazy with them, but at least yoshi put more of an effort to use them. Also, just like yoshi said, none of them will make your eyes bleed. Yoshi has also made two more levels, so now there are four more left before yoshi submits v1.4. Once yoshi makes the four levels, yoshi will test out the entire hack and make adjustments, before yoshi submits it.

Yoshi is going to be away for a few days, though. so yoshi won't be able to work on the hack. Yoshi will be back sunday. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Edit: It seems that yoshi is not going away for a few days after all.

Umh sorry but I meant I'm gonna beta test it when you're gonna release a new demo. But if you want I'll betatest the current one on the site.

Yoshi wasn't sure what you ment when you asked that several days ago, so thats why yoshi asked that. Yoshi is almost done with v1.4, so as soon as that is finished, yoshi will PM you and temporarily upload it to my file bin when you respond, so that you can test it. Yoshi now has two more levels to make, so it won't be long before the new demo is finished.
Ok. Good luck with 'em.
Yoshi just finished the current demo, however it is not ready yet. Georgevssonic is playtesting it right now. When he finishes, yoshi will fix any problems he finds, playtest again, and then upload it.
Review:
Well, I have to say, you did an amazing job on this. You fixed most of the things I pointed out, and made some great new levels.
Possitive Stuff
-Every level had a nice vanilla gimmick. Every single level was unique and fun to play.
-Amaing music choices. You found a song for every level that fitted just perfect.
-Awesome stuff in it like the Yoshi in the shop and in Yoshi's House. Those things are always nice.
-Funny message boxes. You had alot of 'em.

Some things that could be better
-Some levels, like Coin Land, were a bit bland. I liked the gimmick of it, but all the coins didn't look to well.
-Not much, but some levels were a bit short. Like Iggy's Castle. A second room would be nice.

Things you need to fix

Biggest Issues are this one and the next one. When I go to the Yellow Switch Palace, Mario suddenly stands above the tiles, and floats just a bit above the levels. This is also the reason of the next issue.

Thanks to the issue above, Mario glitches up when he enters the door on the OW. He keeps walking up, crashing the game and at the end he dissapears. Thanks to this I couldn't continue playing the game. Is this also the part where the demo ends?

In the Yellow Switch, I need to press a silver P to get through the munchers. Then I'm supposed to grab a shell. But when I hit the silver P, the shell turns into a coin! If I collect it I'm screwed.

Just a matter of opinion, but blocking my way back with coin blocks is pretty weird.

In all these screens I had some slowdown. Take out some sprites.

Here, the star says Star Road, but I go to a green land! Rename all of them or change them to pipes.

Small thing, but could you capital yoshi so it becomes Yoshi?

In all these screens your OW has wacky perspectives, weird colours (where the brown and green meat).

Overall
I realy liked the hack. To bad of the OW problem that crashed the rom. With all the things I've said, I give this hack a nicee 8.2!
That's odd. That glitch didn't happen when yoshi tested it. That wasn't supposed to be the end of the demo, either. Yoshi will fix that glitch and upload the hack again, so you can play world 3 and 4. Here are yoshi's comments for the things that need fixing:

-Yoshi doesn't get why mario does that, and yoshi has no idea how to fix that either.

-Yoshi will find a way to fix that so you can play the rest of the levels.

-Yoshi realizes that. That's why yoshi put in two reset doors.

-Those coin blocks are used to keep mario from going the other way. Yoshi moved them up so that mario is less likely to hit them.

-Yoshi doesn't understand why the game is slowing down because the game didn't slow down in those areas before. Yoshi literally tested those levels without touching anything and there was little to no slowdown.

-Yoshi will change the name of the "STAR ROAD" to "Warp"

-(Yoshi is actually talking in third person in the hack. I think I used the correct capitalization for that message, though).

-Don't forget that Courptendo made the overworld. Yoshi made a few improvements to it, but otherwise it is unchanged. Yoshi will fix at least some of those weird perspectives.

Yoshi will get to work and fix these problems, test it again, then PM you again. Sorry for that glitch. Thanks for playing yoshi's hack!

Haha, good luck with fixing! I also have no idea how that glitch happened. Maybe the position of the YSP is one tile to high/low? And yes I know Courptendo made it, so maybe you should contact him. Can't wait to play the rest of the hack!
Yet again, georgevssonic is playtesting yoshi's hack. Yoshi fixed some of the things he pointed out above. When he finishes, yoshi will make improvements, test it out, and upload it.
Ok, I just finnished Betatesting the whole demo. I found just a little bit of flaws. All easy to fix I guess... But before I start, please contact Courptendo about the overworld, it has alot of errors.

Do you notice how the colour of the block changes when you hit it and when you don't? It's kinda odd.

Look, here the big crusher floats on air. You should make it land on land.

On the right, and on the left, you used a wrong corner tile. Fix it by making the platforms above a bit smaller, so thhey won't float on air.

That's all. I must say I realy enjoyed your levels. It was alot of fun playing this! I hope you will finnish the full version someday!
Thank you for playing yoshi's hack again! Here's yoshi's comments on yours:

-Yoshi will try to fix that.

-That didn't really bother yoshi, but yoshi will fix it anyway.

-Want to hear the irony? Yoshi tried to avoid doing that while building those ledges.

Since changing those things won't alter the levels a lot, yoshi will just fix them and upload the hack.
