I still need some help.

I'm trying to insert player ExGFX for Yoshi, but it wont let me. LM never detects it. How can I get Lunar Magic to detect this ExGFX?

I followed the instructions exactly.
You don't insert player graphics as ExGFX. Instead, you replace the original GFX32 and GFX00 with the new ones.
but everytime i try to use a diffrent one do i have to redo this again?????????????!!!!
and after i finish everything is still a mess!
Thanks to this my hack will be chocolate (or strawberry). Thanks!

EDIT: *tries level*
http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/3635/41849990.png That happens #w{:<}
and it happens to my other fgs

Press F9 in the map 16 editor to save it back to the ROM, and that shouldn't happen.
That's great! It worked! But, how do i insert player graphics?
You Replace the original GFX32 with it. but if you want to keep the original then you would use this patch which enables you to have different characters each level
thankyou, this really helped
Ummmm... I'm kinda stuck on this part...

What do we have to do now? Right, pressing F3 loads the data stored in those two files. Press OK in the upcoming window and all tiles coming with the set appear on the page.

I inserted the ExGFX, I used the red poison mushroom, set it ExGFX80, clicked on the full question block, went to the page with 300-3FF, and pressed F3, but no window came up. What am I doing wrong?
Is Map16Page & Map16PageG in the same folder as your rom?
Yup.
nvm, I got it. :)
I have a problem with PercentN's Forest FG & BG ExGFX. I managed to insert the FG just fine, but no matter what I do, the BG just wont be pasted into Map16. Im inserting it like I did with the FG, except using BG1, and either FG1 or FG2, but its either not showing up whenever I paste it into Map16 or its just pasting the FG again.

Incase ya wanna know, the files from the download are these:
ExGFXBG2, BG3, and FG3.bin
Map16Page.bin
Map16PageG.bin
Map16PageBG.bin
Forest (Not too sure what this is for actually...)

So yeah. Can anyone help?
I used several other tutorials to insert BG Exgfx but i follow every step and all it does is this:
:O HALP
This tutorial proved to be very helpful for me. For the longest time I tried inserting graphics and had no knowledge of what I was doing (My graphics came out glitched etc). But this was very clear and concise. Thanks! ^^
Did it come with a .tpl file?
If so, go to file-palettes-import level palette from file and select your .tpl file. It'll have the right colour then.
Thank you for this! :) Vanilla tileset mixing, here I come! 8>
I have a minor problem. In a few tutorials I've seen that most people's 10 and 11 map 16 pages contain the original smw Backgrounds but my pages 10 and 11 are blank. My originals start of in 40 and 41. Also when I press the blue mushroom button for the first time I don't get the "No GFX are present in the rom" error.

I want to insert BG and FGS but I don't know a safe place to but them. Please help.

The tutorial isn't exactly up-to-date anymore. Lunar Magic 1.70 and above allow for far more Map16 space, so foregrounds now use pages 0-3F while pages 40-7F are used for backgrounds.

That's supposed to happen when you do it for the first time. It should vanish after you've inserted some ExGFX.
