Got a new laptop not that long ago:
OS: win 7 home premium

Intel Core i7 - 2630 QM 2.0 ~ 2.9 GHz
Geforce GT540M 1 GB
6 GBB DDR3 ram
2x 500 GB HDD

And it has some fancy stuff like blu-ray and usb 3.0 .
Never have I bought such good laptop for a good price, AND with a good standard image (chrome was already on it, 4 partitions, can launch applications with GPU easily, etc.).

I also upgraded my pc with another harddisk (1.5 TB), now having a total of 2.5 TB HDD space on it.

What kind of laptop is that? ASUS N73SV? That's the only one I can think of that has dual hard drive bays and a GT 540M. That, and the Sager NP5170 (which is very rare).

Yes, it's the ASUS N73SV.
I bought it for about 979 euros.

I bought the N73SV because I love 17" laptops, and I love the 1920x1080 HD resolution.
It's a very powerful laptop aswell.

I'm really glad I bought it, it was definetly worth it.

1TB worth of Harddrives, ten 100gb Drives configured in RAID
5.12GB of Graphics through 10 AGP cards

It's called a Beowulf Cluster and I use it for rendering.
Got this 'puter about 3 years ago.

eMachines W3650

Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002
Home Edition - Service Pack 3

Holy fuck the what. That's one powerful machine. Did you build it yourself?
Hmm, well...

  • Phenom II X6 1055 @2.8GHz → I will overclock it to something about 4GHz someday, I just need to get a better refigeration system (or a minibar, heh).

  • 4GB of RAM → I don't even know the name of the manufacturer... oh, well, this is what happens when you build a computer starting from a generic one.

  • NVIDIA GeForce 7025; ~2GB available, but only 256MB dedicated → Well, I really don't care for graphics, but I may install an Radeon HD 6000 of some sort in the future, so I can make my 3D renders with a bit of dignity.

  • Motherboard: Foxconn for AM2+ → That's all I know about it (seriously).

  • HD: Samsung HD103SJ, 1TB → that's all I was supposed to know.

  • DVD-RW Drive: an LG of some sort → bah. Who cares about DVD drives nowadays?

  • Display: Samsung SyncMaster BX1931 LED → the resolution is only 1366x768, but at least my eyes don't hurt too many when I manage to stay more than 15 hours looking at it without resting.

  • Also, 7 → guess what.

  • For all of this I paid R$1200, which worths almost US$647. This because in Brazil every imported technologic product have its price augmented in 60%, due to the abusive fees... Bah.

Almost, me and a friend wrote it all out on paper, figured out compatability issues and whatnot.

Also, we have two clusters linked together, one is called the "Liberty" and the other is called "Warhammer" (we dunno, they sounded like cool names.

Together the specs are technically this:
    20GB DDR2 RAM
    73.2 GHZ CPU
    2.5 TB HDD space
    10.24GB Graphics

    I'll get pics up later.

What in the world do you need a computer that powerful for anyway?
