Nitpicking about world 4: Move everything one tile to the right. I always thought it's weird when levels adjoin right to the border.

I realy don't see how. Those levels eight levels can be done by four different people (each person does a level and it's counterpart). If the problem is that they get to make two levels, well...some people made more than two levels in SMWCP1.

I't just a sugestion thought.
...yeah, I don't think that'd be a good idea. You could probably do it in a solo hack, but for our team hack, it'd be unfair to the people who want to design their own original levels.

As for the "more than two levels for ASMWCP" thing, I'll bet you anything that most of the people who got that many stages signed up for them before SNN took over, when interest was dwindling. Odds are that like -everyone- is going to want to make a level for ASMWCP2, so I have serious doubts that anyone will get more than a single level this time.
Yeah...I guess you're right.

What about making that supmap less symetrical then? The placement of the level realy sugests a parralel theme, I'd say they shouldn't be placed in front of each other if they're going to be diferent.
Not to go off topic from the current discussion but I wanted to say I really love the idea of having DKC based maps with no events, everything drawn out already and using the DKC arrow sprites.

About the skeleton map(s), I feel 5 should be moved to the right altogether by one tile too, just like 4.
On world 4 a level should be added or moved because you can chose a path that is 3 water levels or just 1 land level (A clear choice for some). A LOT of people I know hate water levels, so I think we change it a bit.

Level 1A is a red level that provides a shortcut. How that works out can be up to the designers themselves.

A lot of people hate water levels because it's very difficult to design fun water levels. If we're able to change that and actually have decent designers grab said levels, it'll work out fine.

..but yes. Regardless, the shortcut is still there.
Is that why some people said "let's have a water world"?
I like it, but world 4 (or whatever the rest of the main map is) is way too big, I say make it into 2 worlds. Also, I agree that sky/blimp/floating islands should be moved to the right one space. And, where can you post gfx for the overworld? I didn't see any in the global gfx section.
I was bored and drew this crappy concept art:

That would be really hard to pull off if we aren't using a DK style Overworld =/

And while the idea is quite awesome, it doesn't allow much mixing of the two elements in one level(other than the castle)...
Actually, I imagined that as a tower similar to the spiral one in SMB3, i.e. it's how you switch between the two halves.

I actually really like the idea, and if we could get a really good overworld designer we could make this possible. Here's a very rough example of what it could look like given the current skeleton:

I know the perspective is a bit off, but this could probably be easily fixed with some extra graphics and, like I mentioned before, a really good overworld designer.
We'd want some new graphics, yes, as well as the part in the middle to be a "fusion" between ice and fire. If we could pull that off and nail the perspective, it might very well be one of the most unique looking maps in the hack.

Of course, that's a long way off.

That would be amazing. Really loved that map.

That would actually be really, really sick. That's probably one of the coolest ideas I've seen for an overworld map in awhile.
The only thing I don't entirely like is the "go through the tower each time" idea. You should only have to beat it once and then be able to just walk over it.
What if the tower level works like a "ladder" in the map?

I will try to explain: The tower level would be in the Ice part. The level starts with ice and ends with fire/lava.

After it, the path in the lava map would open, and Mario just "climb down" the tower. To go back to ice map, mario would just climb up back to the ice world.
honestly, I don't like the perspective =/

(And I though we had a rule against Pseudo-3d <__<)
