Heh, that still makes me chuckle every time I hear it. Good show.
That squeekie sound right at the start that was in the original SMW as well, do we really need that, or is that not part of the actual song?
I never particularly liked it, and we don't even have the SMW goal bar any more, so maybe a new sound for the roulette could be made?

Just a suggestion, otherwise I like the jingle.

Are you being sarcastic?

I think that's quite a bit better, though the first 2 or so seconds still, in my opinion, sound way too similar to the main leitmotif. Despite my griping about that, though, just for the record, I think 0:06+ sounds just fine despite being a direct port from the leitmotif (most likely due to its triumphant nature and it having a harsh contrast from the few previous seconds sounding nothing like the leitmotif), so that part I think should definitely stay.

In more exciting news:

That sounds really amazing, though I'm kind of wondering how you're going to port that...it sounds rather "sophisticated" for SMW's samples.
Just a random question regarding the Final Boss themes. Will both be used in the battle against Norveg (like, as part of a two part battle)? I'm considering trying to arrange the other one but I'm thinking if I do, it should be a sort of more action-filled version of the first theme. But if it's going to be used as part of the W9 boss or something I doubt it'll matter.
Do we still need to compose the star music (Well, that music plays when Mario gets a star) for SMWCP2?
I have a star track in my folder, but it's not inserted yet.
Zero-X and I paired up to compose this theme over the past few days:

Whispering Riverside

We thought it might fit, say, an Oriental-themed level, so we were wondering if you wanted to make use of it. If not, that's fine, and I understand the project's already filled to the brim with compositions, so no worries. Of course, someone would have to actually port it for it to be useable in the first place :b
There are a few weaker compositions I would like to get removed from the hack if we can actually, so a new oriental port could work. I'd also be interested in a new forest theme, a new grass castle theme (sorry BB, but after listening to this one several time, it's really not sitting with me right .. and I don't actually think I'm the only one who has complained about it). I'd also like one more factory theme to replace Slash Man's as well, because again, a few people have said it's rather dull and I don't really like it either (or at least, not for 2-3 levels in that world).

So .. hey, the opportunity is there if anyone wants to pump out some stuff. I actually asked RednGreen if he wanted to port a couple of the compositions he made for the hack, but I haven't heard back from him yet so I think we're on our own.

EDIT: ...speak of the devil, he just sent me a completed port of a watery track he did. This is what it sounds like.

Loving it!

I would like to write a grass castle theme. I'd say I did decently well with the grass main theme, so I think this might be in my area.
Hm...I was wondering what compositions we still need. The list in the first post is pretty much complete aside from the final boss themes, so I wasn't sure. So this about sums it up:

- Oriental theme
- Forest theme
- Grass castle theme
- Factory theme

Right? Are those the only compositions we need right now? I could try one or more of them, perhaps. Camerin already took the grass castle theme, which was the one I would have picked first, but perhaps I could try the forest theme or something. What kind of atmosphere are we talking here? Bright? Dark? Tranquil? Upbeat? I also actually had two different factory themes in the works, but I'm not sure either would fit SMWCP2 (not to mention one of them might not be convertible to AddmusicM format).
Something darker, but at the same time fairly mechanical. I was thinking of actually trying something which utilized the noise function in AMM to come up with some cool factory sounds, but I can't foresee myself having a lot of time to compose something in the next little while since finals are almost here.

You can add a desert theme to that list too, since we've been lacking on that department for the longest time now.
Wait, the forest theme is supposed to be fairly mechanical? Okay then. Also, is channel 7 remapped (so as to be free of sound effects)?

Actually, why don't I list them in this post and update it as needed:

SMWCP2 compositions still required:

- Oriental theme
- Forest theme
- Grass castle theme
- Factory theme
- Desert theme

Good luck getting that to fit somewhere. The only levels that I could think of it fitting in were:
- Hydrostatic Halt (and Beach Ball Brawl, by extension)
- Crocodilian Crossing, though it would need to play throughout the entire level. Either that or Track 63
- 103 if everyone there get get their heads on right or something. Yeah, that's a long shot.

Also, the revised desampled Submerged Micromelx may not be necessary after all. Once I can finally take care of the update I got for M.Mainline, it can just use Track 48 instead (Lily Swamp Romp also uses it.) without (too much of) a loss.

Oh, no, I meant the factory theme. Strangely enough, we actually have nothing mech-related in the forest.

I replaced Buster Beetle's water track (used in Hydrostatic Halt) with this one. It was a long level to begin with, so a longer track would be more fitting for it. I've also sent a PM to Lightvayne about this so he can confirm it.
Similarly, I am assuming that the current W4A Map Music will be replaced judging by MvS' post.

Since, well, the current one is kinda forgettable, or worse yet, unidentifiable.

Also, that Watery Depths song sound more like Map song rather than a level song, well at least to me.

Also, will this be the star theme of this hack?

You do realise that SPC is horribly outdated and I've as such changed it to this right?

We actually faced the same issue as we did now with having problems regarding AMM. We managed to solve them the first time round so assumingly we can solve them this time round too.

Since we're trying to replace Slash's factory track and get a new desert track, I have two I made a while ago that I'd be willing to donate (since, realistically, I likely won't use them anymore).

Factory

Desert (sort of)

Both of these are already ported, and it's merely a matter of resampling them into this hack. If you guys think they'll work, I'll do this in the next week.
@MvS: No, actually. Also, I'm loving that update!

Factory: I really don't like this one, well, in a sense as being used in a level, and more, a "final" level.

Desert: I like it, but I feel that there are too much slow desert songs...but that's just me.

If the port of this one is the same one that I saved long ago, then I don't see it fitting the current levels that use Slash's song- or at least Synchronized Sector with the more mellowed out approach that level's atmosphere has. I had muted the music of the level through LM and played Pyra Mechalot's port in VLC Media player and they just didn't click together with me. Synchronized Sector would need a change in setting to a more active factory if we go with this song. I haven't tried Petroleum Passage out yet with this song, but I feel like it should fit well as that level feels more lively.

I don't have a Lithic Ruins port (thought I don't recall you ever posting one and like hell am I looking through your post history.), but the current desert levels feel fine as they are with their music. I can only see Emerald Escapade's outdoor area getting changed to that, but I suppose the remaining World 4 levels would roll with it if those designers choose to use it.
Yeah, I was worried about that. The levels which use Slash's song seem really downbeat and more "ruined", almost (or at least, abandoned). I guess we're going to need something more along those lines.

I'll see if I can come up with something fresh that isn't just a rehash of something older I've made.
