Does anyone agree with me that the Goomba Bros from Paper Mario should be thrown back in? Maybe as an optional boss in World 1.

A flame thrower snowman sounds like an amazing boss idea! I love the fire and ice theme, reminds me of SMG and SMG2.

I don't.
I'd suggest Kanako Yasaka as a world 5 boss, but I guess that we've already settled on a Yoshi's Island (*Shudders*) boss for world 5.
Since you've suggesting Fire/Ice enemies, maybe the ice enemy could be Cirno and the fire enemy could be a generic fire fairy.

Edit: I was thinking world 7 had seperate castles, so maybe Cirno and the fire fairy idea I made could be used as a pair boss, like the Goomba Bros.

People, we're really looking for NEW bosses you make that actually have decent logical attacks, make sense in their respected world, all that good stuff, not HEY LET'S BRING IN IKE FROM FIRE EMBLEM FOR THE 8TH WORLD, HE'S COOL.
I thought that the Gommba Bros might make for a good 'beginner boss', something to really start up the story, and give you an idea of how the rest of the game is going to be. Even in Paper Mario itself. At that time you are not very powerful, so the Goomba Bros seem like a fun boss. . . sort of, that get's you excited for the rest of the game, and keeps you playing.

In case you don't get it, we are searching for original bosses aka we make up whole new characters.

Touhou bosses are not an option anyway.

Semi-Original Boss Idea #1) All-star Chuck

All-star Chuck is the highest class chuck, he could do all the sport attacks he wants whenever he chooses. As a nice side story, we could say he was the first chuck to appear in SMW getting his revenge after rigorous years for training. Meaning, all of his sport attacks would be upgraded:
-Tackle: It'd be more of a Wario Dash, meaning faster and stronger. If he hits the wall maybe the ground could quake Mario + Objects fall from ceiling.
-Baseball: He throws baseballs vertically off-screen for them to crash down upon Mario.
-Digging: One he inserts his Shovel into a ground, a large Spike shoots up under Mario. (or maybe something alternate using Digging Chuck's rocks)
-Whisting: The screech could be an unavoidable attack that doesn't hurt Mario, but stuns him in place (even if he is off the ground)
-Football: (My Suggestion of getting him hurt) ASC kicks it so hard that it move fast and stay bouncing on all walls. It stays going until it either hits Mario or the Chuck.

Comments? Is it not original enough?
The idea of merging all of Chuck's ability into a "Super Chuck" of sorts could actually be quite interesting if done right.
Okay, I won't comment unless I have an idea that IS original.
I like the idea of All-Star Chuck, though i think it might be best if he had multiple ways to take damage so he doesn't turn into a waiting around boss.

Oh and all star chuck sounds good, but it doesn't sound like a world boss. It would be a pretty good secret boss though.

No really. Think about that one Shine in Pianta Village in Super Mario Sunshine. Has that level frustrated you to no end? Make it a boss! You can beat bosses, so you get to have your revenge. :O But how will you beat it...? ...it's an idea in progress. Anyways, here's what I have in mind for how it attacks:

Quite simply, there's spikes on the walls, and the Pianta is out to get you. It will attempt to pick you up, at which point, it will throw you at the spikes. Maybe it could instantly throw you, like the Piantas in Sunshine. (The minute you finish talking to the ones that will throw you, they throw you. No "pick up, wait a bit, throw". Just instant throw.) So, you'd have to avoid the Pianta's movements. Perhaps it could walk around slowly for a while, but every so often, it'll just rush for you. Also, perhaps the arena could be more than one screen wide, so you have plenty of room to run around, and so getting grabbed by the pianta isn't an instant hit. ...

..............................I just had another idea branching off that. How about instead of the Pianta being the boss, the room itself is? The Pianta is trying to get rid of you, so it's an obstacle, but there's a part of the room that you have to destroy to stop the factory? Then we could throw Piantas all over that level as obstacles. :P


I again offer this idea. I think it would be a great idea, although I really don't have any idea how one would damage it. :/

EDIT: At the very least, it would be much more than a simple Chuckya, as Atma once said it was. Also, as for why the Pianta would be against you, a simple justification: it defected to the side of evil. There IS a Pianta Mafia, after all. :P

I have a different idea. This one as a world 4a boss. It would be a humanoid dragon in an orb that looks like a Yin-Yang symbol and splits as such. His attack pattern would begin with his orb opening. Next, the half-symbols spin around in a circle and slow down. The half on top determins wether his attack will be a Yin or Yang based attack, and wether he is vulnerable to a red or blue koopa shell. His half-symbols would move to the side and he would then do one of the following:

1. Change the room to blindingly bright or dark (Yin = bright, Yang = dark)
2. Create a Red and a Blue koopa
3. Fill the two small pits in the level he's in with lava or water (Yin = lava, Yang = water)
4. Attempt to ram Mario
5. Drop a Fire Flower (Only if Yin comes up)
6. Kill all enemies on screen (Only if Yang comes up)

After performing a randomly selected action from the ones above, his orb would close and he would fly in a circle, dropping white and black balls that hurt Mario.

Semi-Original Boss Idea #2) The Final boss that will be in the Factory.
TLMB It'd be 2 phases
Zephyr let's hear it :
TLMB First phase is an over massive tank
TLMB It requires 2 level slots
TLMB one for the bottom of the tank
TLMB the second for the top
TLMB It'd basically be a climb to the top of the tank then damage it
TLMB with each damage, the tanks breaks at some parts and Mario gets knocked back to the base
Zephyr rat guy needs to be visible though :|
TLMB The climb will be the same but with more dangers as the tanks is falling apart. i.e. a pipe that was use to transport steam now broke, spewing stream

-Fire/Ice world boss idea: Dragons-

I actually like the proposal on the first post about the Fire and Ice Dragons. They could breath a stream of fire to hurt you, or ice to freeze you. They could have some sort of physical attack. Then they can have a Fireball and Ice Chunk (both hurt you) that they shoot at the same time. To damage them, you could position yourself so the fireball would hit the ice dragon, and the ice chunk hitting the fire dragon.

I would make them on the same vertical plane, (one on right, on on left) so that they will get hit either at the same time or not at all. If the damaging attacks don't fire at the same time, one dragon might die before the other, rendering the battle impossible. I don't think they should randomly spit out Koopas, or by jumping on their head. I think turning their projectiles against them would be the best idea.

Thoughts?
Whatever we do for fire/ice, I think a neat gimmick would be that you have to fight an ice form and a fire form, and fight each in a specific way, such as making the ice form fall into lava. Or, you could have fireballs and ice shots as a constant threat that can be used to hurt them. I'm kinda thinking of the ice/fire dragons in Phantom Hourglass, only a little more original.

I thought this would be a cool boss to fight. sorry it's kinda complicated, I got acouple mental problems so have a hard time with certain stuff.


I'm re-posting this because I REALLY think it would be a fun yet difficult boss, but if it's no good I'd like to know why.
huh i like the all-star chuck idea. the only thing i would change is making it so he can be jumped on instead of footballed. Something like, 15 HP, must wait X amount of time before able to jump on him again.
