Which would you rather be? Blind or Deaf? and why?
Me, I would rather lose my sense of sight seeing as my vision is greatly impaired as is. My hearing is one of my best senses and I would rather lose my sight than my ability to hear music or people's voices.

Hearing. Cochlear implants are much farther along than anything we could have to restore one's sight.

Also, I don't know, I guess I would chose to lose my sight, otherwise, it would be verry hard to comunicate, and aparently blind people have better hearing and touch.

Blind I guess. I dislike absolute silence. If I don't hear a fan on or something at night, I can't sleep.

Cochlear implants are a good replacement for basic hearing, but they aren't sophisticated enough to allow the enjoyment of music.
I would give up the one eye I have in favour of losing my hearing. It might still be a hard choice, though, as I've come to rely on my one eye nearly as much as you guys have with your two. Still, my hearing is better than anything else, so I might stick with what I'm best at.

I'm actually quite surprised at the responses here =o
I mean, they all make sense, but I honestly expected more people to favor their eyes.
Personally, if we look away from Hu's theory, I'd rather lose my hearing than my sight =/
I rely a lot more on my ability to see, and I'm not a great music enthusiast either, so =P

Currently that's true, but we may make an advancement at any time for them to be more viable, and I think we are far more distant from Geordi's visor or retinal implants.

Hearing is worse then Sight. I would prefer losing Hearing. I mean, without sight, you would probably die from not knowing where you are going.

Good you made a thread about this Slash, since I've changed my mind after what I said in S.N.N.'s equal thread in the past. I said I would rather be deaf then, but when I think about it; It would become really lonely and quiet inside my head, so I would go for being blind instead. Music and voices are VERY important to me, its strange I never started porting actually.

I'm sure there are plenty of living blind people in the world.
Also, for me, I really don't know. I suppose my vision is of more use to me, since that way I can still find my own way around, and can also still communicate through writing. But then again I'm extremely clumsy and walk into everything already. So, yeah I don't know.
Maybe if it was blind or deaf from the moment of birth, where you would never be able to experience one of these senses and don't know what you're missing, I'd probably go with blind. I don't know why, sight seems like it'd be of less importance than hearing to me.

I'm not much of a music enthuiast either.
Though, truth be told, I already kinda don't have my sense of smell.

Rather be deaf. Then I'd have a more reasonable excuse to not talk to people than just being afraid to.

Deaf for sure. Not being able to see would make life much more difficult than not being able to hear.

I prefer to be deaf, for sure. I wouldn't be able tto do all the stuff i enjoy doing without my sight, and hearing is a lot less important.

I'll say to be deaf. Even though you won't be able to hear your favorite music, watch tv properly and such. communication is not a problem though. But without sight, you will have less stuff to do. No more of browsing internet, playing games and a lot of things.

I'd rather be deaf, there's so many things you can't do without sight, and losing my sight is one of my biggest fears.
