Infos about the hack, I'm going slow because I have nice gimmicks in mind but no level design ideas to go with it. I must take pauses. Because, I'll learn you something. If you play my hack, you'll play a dream. Yep, a dream. I have no imagination in real life. But, sometimes my dreams bring me level design. And curently, I had none of these dreams. I don't know what to do to bring e'm back. But maybe I should continue on thinking about the story.

Well, the only thing that I can think of to help your dreams come back is playing Mario games. Lots and lots of Mario games, or side-scrollers in general really. Maybe playing some of the hacks on the site will help inspire you, or at the very least, it might make your dreams come back. Also, please don't stop the hack just because of that BSNES rule, it was removed for the time being anyways. I love what you've done so far, keep up the good work!
Thanks! During the week I completed 100% Sonic Advance 1 and 3 and it gave me some inspiration. A big problem I have is that I'm always feared to not have enought stuff to show here so I show nothing ^^. I have a desert level completed at 90% and I remade the second half of the first level. I also fixed the classic piranha plants so I can use them. But since it is just for fun and I like putting very little details in my levels I am going slow. I have, like, 2 or 3 levels half completed that I deleted because I didn't liked e'm. Wait a second, I'm doing screenshots ^^.
Looks good! I like the redrawn FG graphics, especially the shading on the dirt, it's very nice! The overworld is also good, and the castle level reminds me of Hidden Palace Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 3. #w{=)}

Why don't use the VWF?
I was about to say that in the next update, I'll use this tool. It is complicated but it gives a cool effect!

looks pretty good so far. i watched the video and i liked the music a lot.
Okay guys, it is a while since the last update, but real life problems almost got rid of my motivation. BUT! I'm not dead! I'm currently trying to use the VWF cutscene tool, and it is hard, and I don't understand a word about "inserting a sprite in it". Anyway, I have a level, a forest one this time called Creepy Battlefield, a dark forest with lotsa of para-bombs! The dark background makes it hard to see them so I think it will be a middle-game level. I'm creating all in disorder so I can't really release any demo... Anyway, here is a screenshot:



There are also jumping flames. I have a request in the request section witch is for a lakitu that throws bob-ombs, so I could use that instead of para-bombs.
Cool. I do think the BG is a bit empty and getting repietive quickly, so I'd pick a different BG if I were you.
Yes, I am assembling it myself, without the sample level, but yes, I kind of forgot the botttom left part ^^. I will try to balance it a little.

Wow! :) I love cutscenes in hacks. If you don't understand sprites in VWM, I can explain it for you through PMs, if you want. :) I used it once for the 7th attempt of Mario's Long Traveling, and after trying to make sprites, I did it. The only thing I'm not sure about it are the palettes. I can use only 8,E,F. And also, I like the forest section very much, you may want to add some brambles in the BG, it would fit perfectly, unless it's a layer 2 level. :) Keep it up, change the OW palette, and keep trying with VWM sprites! :)
Yes, explain me please ^^. Also, that's real, brambles here and there whould be good, I'll try to make my owns. Thanks for reply! Also, I need help for making puzzles. I love solving them but don't tell me about creating one, I'm SO bad at it! So, anyone that can make a switch palace puzzle or two, I whould LOVE it!
Hey, I read you need a lakitu that throws bob-ombs huh? You might want to check the sprites section for a pipe dwelling Lakitu / lakitu disassembly. When you look in the .asm file, there should be a bit of code that changes the sprite it throws (not sure 'bout that) and change it to 0D (that is the bob-omb, I believe, not sure 'bout that again). But yeah, it looks nice!
Well, I watched in the sprites section and it has only the pipe dwelling one and I need the one on his cloud.

Fake edit: I'll use a Amazin' Flying Hammer Bro. instead. It will give a fresh wind to the level.

Real Edit: There's no Amasin' thing either. What a bad luck.

News guys! I know I'm slow but when I rush I make crappy things and/or get mad and delete it. Anyway, here is a screenshot for a cave sublevel:



It features Gaudis from Cave Story. I wanted to use the flying ones too but they have a strange glitch where they keep on going up until it disappears and it glitches throught the ceilling. 2 seconds after they're on screen, they are already too high to be jumped on.

Also, I need a new title for my hack, because it spoils the whole story. So if anyone has an idea... You're welcome! Also, I have the story: One morning, Mario is woke up by two koopas that learn him that Bowser's Castle have been took by enemies they don't know and they are the only ones left, the others all have been brainwashed and even tried to attack them! So they'll need the help of Mario to go to Bowser's Castle and get rid of the invaders.

The koopas are following us all along the adventure and will talk via the NPC 1.0 sprite, the 2.0 and 3.0 being unusable to me because of that palette system. Expect a lot of humor and gimmicks comming from that!
Hi Dedede! :) I see you're using the cave story enemies and background from the room with the boulder that is blocking the door. I like the way that the room is setup, but you could add more decorations to it. :) I also saw that you liked Cave Story! :) If you want, you can send me a PM which will tell me where you are in this amazing game. EDIT: Look what I found when I opened Lunar Magic's OverWorld Editor:



It is NOT a fake. It actually doesn't affect the ROM at all. Sometimes when I open it I see Luigi, sometimes riding a Yoshi, sometimes not...

EDIT2: The wings of the bird are exanimated also!

Yeah, that's true, it was REALLY hard to do. Because it's impossible to block the player, he can move freely, everywhere. It's why I made it pretty maze-ish. And, as I said in the description of the video, I played throught it without making any mistakes, because I know it by hearth...

He was in the Cave Story Sprite Pack Sonikku released at C3 Spring 2010. The link is down, but I found his new website witch includes... a almost-deserted forum and his sprites...

Also, for the bird, I'm not sure it was an April's Fool, because sooner in the day it wasn't doing that to me, and that's when I started this OverWorld really. And it ALWAYS glitch with me, a lot of times I see Luigi, or one of the brothers on a Yoshi...

Witch reminds me, I already saw Yoshi alone...

EDIT: And, if you didn't noticed, the first and second sections are the same, the former having an extra platform to reach the pipe, and the latter having an extra rope to reach the higher pipe. The way = 1st - 2nd - 1st - 3rd. Other that that, in the first one, there is only one coin at the very top before the 3rd area with the exit. It's because for an unknown reason they disappear.

The LM OW things are for different days/holidays. Xmas has Mario on a blue yoshi and sometimes mario is Luigi, its simular to ZSNES April fools messages.

Anyways the hack looks good. :P
