When I looked at the picture (even before knowing it's supposed to be based on a game) I immediately though of Balloon Fight - mainly because there'a pit of water in the middle, two ledges, and a starry background.
And now I think of it, that god-awful out nowhere ambush fish.
Amiright?

Indeed you are both right! It's Balloon Fight from the NES.
This game deserves a reboot along side Ice Climbers...
Anyway it was also include some Para-Toasties and other Para enemies to suit the theme.
Stay tuned for the next world... ;3

I'm guessing the Ambush Fish is Boss Bass?
Also, I really agree with you that they newer counterparts (both it and Ice Climbers) Although, with the new Kid Icarus game, it may have its chance.
And am I wrong to assume you'll be having an "Ice Climber" world :3

heh, I haven't played Balloon fight, so I wouldn't have guessed that. 
Anyways, I am really liking the level so far. Seems like an interesting climatic level for something this far into the game. 
Keep it up.

I don't I will include an Ice Climber World... ;P
But anyway I got another part of the level started:

Despite now been too obvious to what it's based off it's kind of a DKC styled underwater level. I'm sure one of those games had some dark water levels, which will be this part of the levels main gimmick.
(Don't worry! Playing on whatever emulator on a bigger screen means you can be able to get around fine despite the screenshot making it look soo dark)

If you read underneath the screen I mentioned that although it seems really dark you can see things. Just look closer ^.^

That's really dark... maybe TOO dark.
I suggest making the level a tad lighter so we can actually see the level in game.

I actually disagree with JDC, keep it. It's world 10, and has to be a challenge, so a really dark level will be a challenge!

Bleh. I did not like the tileset and the way the level was going.
So I decided to change it and make it slightly more representative of some aspects from DKC.

Yup. Underwater Brambles. And it's a tad lighter ^.^

Everytime I see "When Worlds Collide" in the title I think of that song from Spongebob.
BTW, awesome level as always. I'm liking the SMB3 throwback section.

Ah, yes. I remember that one. Also, Dudes- very nice tilesets. The idea of brambles and water is very unusual, yet works well. In screenie 2: The FG is brilliant. It looks a lot more detailed than it really is- which is a good thing The shadows work well. Perhaps a tad more shading around the metal platforms and the screws and it'll be perfect. Can we expect a W10 boss?

Cheers guys! As for the screws they do have shading. It's hard to see via screen. I went and made it more noticeable anyway. ^.^
Anyway I'm at the half way point now with 5 rooms done!

Hmmm. Where is this at? (Gameboy Game)

No idea where this place is ;D
EDIT: Yes, W10 will have a boss

I have a pretty good feeling that this W10 boss will likely be the strongest boss in the game, since this is the TRUE final boss of the game.

Those later screenshots looks amazing! The level design looks really nice (not that hard though for W10). Pretty cool idea with the underwater brambles, and loving the SMB3 throwback. i'm curious to see from what game that icy/cloudy sublevel came from.
