Just a note, I still have a few glitches to fix, and I have to make sure the level is 100%able, but after that, I can release a 1-level demo if you want me too, (although, I'd prefer to add more levels and change the graphics first...)

Aside from that, with Golden Egg you cannot edit any color of a palette, you can only change the palette a level uses. Use SNESPal to edit them. Yoshi's palettes can be found here:
0x1FA240 00: Green
0x1FA25E 01: Pink
0x1FA27C 02: Yellow
0x1FA29A 03: Light Blue
0x1FA2B8 04: Brown
0x1FA2D6 05: Purple
0x1FA2F4 06: Red
0x1FA312 07: Blue

Well, sorry if I came off as mean, I just got a bit upset because EggVine won't work on my computer. I'm still kind of new to YI hacking, and Golden Egg just works better for me, its just a preference. Thanks for the help though.
EDIT: I did get EggVine to work once...yeah...I think i'll stick with GoldenEgg...

No problem, many have the problem with EggVine not working for them. And I admit that Golden Egg is a lot user-friendlier than EggVine.
On another note, people are actually supposed to post their easy-to-answer questions here

Oh well, after I fixed the palettes, I was going to just edit the title etc. into a thread for my hack anyways...
EDIT: Ok palette changed! Now, I just have to edit the sprites and post screenshots! For those who care, i'm making Birdo the main character.

Go ahead. It's better than having an extra question thread take up space on the first page of this forum, anyway (after all, that's the point of the FAQ thread).
So you're replacing Baby Mario with a Yoshi, and Yoshi with Birdo? That's certainly different. Looking forward to the screenshots.

Actually, the idea of replacing Baby Mario with a baby Yoshi has been used before (The Starchild), but using Birdo certainly is a new idea. An unusual storyline can help inspire people to play your hack.
Out of curiosity, why did it take you an hour to get the graphics out of the ROM?

40 minutes to try to get ycompress to extract the graphics, only to find out the ROM was headerless,
10 minute for Translhextion to freeze twice when trying to add a header,
5 minutes for Translhextion to actually work,
5 minutes for ycompress to finally work.
So in actuality, it SHOULD have only taken 10 minutes...

Anyways, I like the screenshots of your hack. Just one note:
If I were you I'd alter the Tileset of the first level, so it doesn't look too similar to the original Yoshi's Island. Try out different combinations of BG and FG and the game becomes a whole new originality.

Okay, changed to Forest FG, and I forgot which BG (EDIT: Forgot to change the BG, whoops, I probally should soon). But if an expert saw the vid, they would probably know it on sight.
EDIT: Actually doesn't take that long anymore, now that its headered and stuff!

Just a quick question for later, does anyone think that Prince Froggy would make a good World 2 Castle Boss. Because I wanted a custom order for the bosses. Plus the only bosses that I'm leaving in the original castles are the first one (forget his name, wasn't it "Big Burt" or something like that?), and Baby Bowser (obviously...).

If you want to make World 2 to be jungle-ish themed, then it's surely is OK, he just shouldn't look too much out of place there.

Actually, I was wondering if he was too hard for World 2. The World 2 theme is a Jungle/Bog, and you can't edit his boss room, so thats why I considered getting him out of the way early.

In my opinion, Froggy is one of the easiest bosses in the original YI (once you know that the middle is safe from the acid). Using him in world 2 sounds like a good idea to me.
By the way, regarding your intro text, there's a missing period in the first screenshot... and you may want to move around the line breaks so your text fits better in the message box (though if you do, be very careful to keep your line breaks in the same order).
Edit: Feel free to put a symbol at the start of your thread title, to mark it as a hack thread.

The levels for SMWCP2 went blazingly fast (and I mean FAST!)...I signup for backup for the off chance someone quits...but until then, I need a vacation (my head STILL hurts...) I decided I needed a break from SMW, so I came to my favorite island (Which is DarkBones speech for: "I'm working on my Yoshi's Island hack for a while") I'll have some new pictures once I find out where I left off, so stay tuned! (or keep waiting for a while longer...whatever rocks your boat...)
Also, I'm still in need of some Graphics...in case anyone cares...yeah...you juat want me to hurry up, don't you...
Edit: Okay I replayed the hack and remembered the glitches. First of all, two exits still bring Yoshi to the wrong place. Second the scrolling in the Goal Point level is still glitchy. Third (which is actually one I didn't figure out), you know that extra life in the first level? Well, there is special coding in the tutorial level that disallows loss of lives. It is possible to grind up lives in the tutorial. Anyone got a better idea of what to put there, or should I just remove the cloud bit? Oh, and one more thing, is it just me, or is the Yoshi's Island hacking thread getting desolate...
