I was playing the level before the world 5 castle, (for the first time, just in case it matters) and I died. So I decided to go back to the hub. I went to Peach's castle, expecting her to tell me to get those eggs, but she didn't. I walked over to her and the credit's sequence started. I just thought I would point this out, in case it's unknown.

Something similar happened to me, but it was the opposite. I have all the eggs and I beat Bowser, but I can't walk up to Peach
|
