I would like to discuss a pretty old, but cool anime movie called Akira. It simply shows up DBZ on the "screaming makes you stronger" theory. It was a manga as well, but i never read them (and would like to).|
Plot (probably spoilers, but if you want to read before the movie, fine by me);
Tetsuo Shima is part of a biker gang and suffers from an inferiority complex, and has inherited awesome powers from a powerful being known as Akira, who is believed to have started World War 3 by destroying Tokyo. He is then drug to a special hospital by the Neo-Tokyo army for people who have inherited the same powers. Tetsuo then breaks free from the hospital, after an encounter with the other test subjects that try to kill him because they know he wont be able to control his power. eventually, he sets out to release Akira from beneath the stadium in the old city, only to learn Akira had every test run on him known to man and all that remains is his frozen organs and other assorted tissues. He then loses control of his power because he didn't take the medicine to control it, and Akira appears to stop Tetsuo from harming anyone else, consuming both Tetsuo and most of Neo-Tokyo, taking Tetsuo to a safe place where he can harm no one.
Link to part 1 of the good version;
it's hard to just summarize, there are many important things to be said, so I just focused on what happens with Tetsuo since he's the main character. I also understand that the film greatly differs from the manga.
(first thread in a while, lets hope i didn't mess up)
