26, as before.

And I'm pretty sure the fandom will keep going, on inertia if nothing else.

The biggest spike in new members, IIRC, was during last years summer, between season 1 and 2.
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if the show became less popular, given some of the episodes this season <.<
Or it could explode again, as there's no accounting for taste. Popularity (or lack thereof) is non-indicative of quality (or lack thereof).

The sonic fandom's survived like, over a decade of terrible games. I don't think an "only" good season will kill this one.

Especially when 95% of the fanbase doesn't fucking psychoanalyze every single episode to its core like some of the users here/in the fanbase in general, and just enjoys them for what they are .. hence why in my eyes, S2 has been just as good, if not better than S1 in most aspects.

Needless to say, I don't think the show's popularity is going anywhere for quite a while. Saying it's going to be half of what it was by S3 (YouAreSuperMario) would mean that half of the fanbase would have to do a mass exodus during this year .. and that's almost impossible unless the show is literally ruined for some reason.

"when we analyze art, when we look for deeper meaning in it, we are enjoying it for what it is."

Thinking too much (or too little, for that matter) is never a good reason for a complaint to be invalid. It implies "I don't care about these problems, why do you?" It's a tad presumptuous to assume one's taste is what everyone else should conform to.
Indeed. If I weren't a huge fan of it, I wouldn't have bothered to criticize it.

You have to admit though, quite a fair bit of the fandom is artificially bloated though Reddit, 4Chan (despite the site itself no-longer playing a part in the grand scheme of things, the Btards are still there lurking in the background) and Youtube. The people who usually come though those 3 places usually have a short attention span, and move on if they see something new and they get too board.

I can't really see them hanging around during the off season.
I enjoyed pretty much every episode. I like the show as a whole and i don't care that much about details.

But, i don't think EVERY fan should be like that, and i don't think every fan should be a deep psychologist either.
You have to admit though. Even if the whole fandom blew up in flames tomorrow, we can at least say it has left a heck of a legacy. I mean we've just surpassed the "What are you listening to?" thread in terms of replies. And the thread itself has practically been the most active thread for a whole year now! (And this is just talking about the impact in this single website).

Nobody would have expected this from a show about multicolour ponies.

And no, I don't see this fandom going nowhere. It has too many talent artists/musiciens/YTPoopers/game designers/craftsmen/writers/just general talented people that the shows fan base can only go up. The best is still yet to come, I'm sure of it.

The animation in this scene really impressed me.

I totally forgot about that scene.

I agree. Something about that one particular scene seems much more smooth and almost emotion-driven than anything I've seen in the show. I wonder why they chose to do it there.

I don't know... something seems off about her face to me. Can't put my finger on it though.

completely unrelated: ooh, now I get it. Ne'er-do-well - Mare-Do-Well. Ha ha.
The face looks rather flat, but every camera facing face looks flat. /shrug

...I never noticed that. I knew it was a pun of some sort but never bothered to figure it out.

Haha. I have nothing better to put in my signature.
I heard some people (on the server I mostly play on,in a certain game) talking about My Little Pony, and stuff.

I heard something with TV later, and immedietly went on to their forums, and asked if there was actually a TV Show of it.

I thought it was simply insane, and expected childish content.

I Got Completely Paralyzed by It, The Way it looks, and All bronies.

Now, I'm Also a Brony. #w{xD}

Not Sure If there are Bronies at my school. > 3>
Buy a shirt and find out.
heh

That reminds me, one of the absolutely most awesome things about my little pony is that it has gained me new IRL friends ^-^

Edit: Linkiejj, find out if there is any local facebook group for your area. You might find some people you know there :3

based on this...

Well...
- Friendship is Magic vs. Return of Harmony.
Phew, Return of Harmony is way better, it had the awesome Discord and Flutterbitch.
Winner: Return of Harmony

- The Ticket Master vs. Lesson Zero.
Lesson Zero was hilarious and terrifying, but i think The Ticket Master had a better pacing and it's an overall better episode:
Winner: The Ticket Master

- Applebuck Season vs. Luna Eclipsed.
Applebuck had its moments, but i think Luna Eclipsed was an overall better episode. Loved canon Luna and Dash's awesomesauce costume.
Winner: Luna Eclipsed

- Griffon the Brush-Off vs Sisterhooves Social.
Sisterhooves was cute, i think i almost cried, but Griffon had more humor, plus Gilda's badass heavy metal riff. Also, Pepe le Pew references.
Winner: Griffon the Brush-Off

- Boast Busters vs. The Cutie Pox.
I don't really like Trixie that much now (yes, blame fanon and Sethisto for that). I think Cutie Pox had better moments and was funnier, althought the Boast Busters ending was badass.
Winner: The Cutie Pox

- Dragonshy vs. May the Best Pet Win!
MTBPW had one of the best MLP songs, if not the best, but other than that, Dragonshy is superior. It had the best resolution IMO, and it's the best starting episode.
Winner: Dragonshy

- Look Before You Sleep vs. The Mysterious Mare Do Well.
I did enjoy the Mare do Well episode, but it's still my least favorite.
Winner: Look Before You Sleep

- Bridle Gossip vs. Sweet and Elite.
Both episodes are among my favorites. Both introduced cool characters (Zecora and Fancypants), both have ultra-catchy songs (Evil Enchantress and Becoming Popular), both have a funny gag (Flutterguy and Party Cannon), i... i just can't decide!
Winner: Tie

- Swarm of the Century vs. Secret of My Excess.
Swarm was cool but Secret of My Excess is one of my top episodes. It's an unfair match if you ask me.
Winner: Secret of My Excess

- Winter Wrap Up vs Hearth's Warming Eve.
Just like BG and SaE, i can't really decide. I loved both.
Winner: tie, again

- Call of the Cutie vs. Family Appreciation Day.
Same as HWE/WWU
Winner: tie, take three

- Fall Weather Friends vs. Baby Cakes.
Baby Cakes was funny and cute but Fall Weather Friends was much better overall.
Winner: Fall Weather Friends

- Suited for Success vs. The Last Roundup.
We're talking about my favorite episode ever (Last Roundup), it wins by default. In fact, i'm quite surprised the OP thought Suited for Success was better. Other than the song, i find everything about Last Roundup to be much better than Suited for Success.
Winner: The Last Roundup

- Feeling Pinkie Keen vs. The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000.
Both episodes made me laugh a lot and were quite simmilar for me. But the cider one wins, it had the oh so godly song, that FPK lacked.
Winner: The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000

- Sonic Rainboom vs. Read It and Weep.
Read it and Weep is a great starting action-packed episode, but Sonic Raiboom was way better. It's still one of my top 5 MLP episodes.
Winner: Sonic Rainboom

- Stare Master vs. Hearts and Hooves Day.
Hearts and Hooves Day is easily the funniest episode, but that's it. I prefer Stare Master, Fluttershy's stare was one of the best things i've seen.
Winner: Stare Master

- The Show Stoppers vs. A Friend in Deed.
The CMC song was cute, but Smile was WAY cuter. A Friend in Deed is my second favorite MLP episode overall, it had felt, FOUR songs and new characters!
Winner: A Friend in Deed

- A Dog and Pony Show vs. Putting Your Hoof Down.
Both episodes made me laugh, a lot. Just like HWE/WWU and CoTC/FAD, i can't decide.
Winner: tie, take four

hahaha damn i hate it so much ;)
Comparing them solely on order of airing seems a bit unfair.

TBH I can't really think of a better way to compare episodes across the seasons, though. /shrug

Reorder the episodes in each season from most to least favorite, then compare a pair of the same rank?
