Seeing brony meetup pictures sometimes creeps me out a little... even if i'm one. Heh, even merely watching the show still makes me feel uncomfortable sometimes (especially the intro), but not always.
So, meetup for me? not really, not my kind of thing.

Yeah the group pictures do look kind of odd. They just seem... I don't really know how to say it, but I didn't want part in it.

Finally got around to watching the episode, and again was I very pleased with it :3
Also, @Kaijyuu, I pretty much have the same thing; I think it's fairly common among critics, actually.
I tend to focus on what's bad, and often choose not to point out the good parts, which is mainly because of how I think that the stuff I didn't say was bad is, obviously, inherently good, cause otherwise I would have pointed out the flaws.
The way I see it it's more efficient to just point out the flaws, and leave the rest be(If I've already pointed out which side of the coin is heads, I see no reason to explain that the other side is tails).
However, over time I've become better at pointing out the good stuff too(though I still forget it sometimes =P), since I have acknowledged that not everyone has the same critics-mindset as myself, and many people tend to believe that if I don't point out anything good about it, I must be hating it.

I'd say you don't, but it allows one to look at the context with diffrent eyes.
Being crticial is nothing wrong, especially considering when you're trying to have a balance between good and bad. If anything...I'd say you had the opposite effect on me (Seeing how hard I used to find it to like "Lunar Eclipse" then compared to now) with your good standpoints.
Also...Did you listen closely to the music in the latest episode? Holy shit!

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the awesome background music throughout this episode. Just watched it now and I really liked how it strayed from what I'd consider a "typical" episode. I just don't know if I agreed with the four of them running away from the dragons at the end
Also, since I haven't showed this here yet, my new shirt came the other day. Huzzah!

The 8 year old in me would love to see an epic showdown fight on screen, but yeah, don't think it's gonna happen in this series  Since the dragons were stereotypically stupid teenagers, couldn't reason with them either.
Also neat shirt! Currently wearing Luna, by coincidence~

Been a couple months since I've watched an episode and this one was a nice one to come back to. Plus it's pretty relevant to a high school student like me, with the whole obnoxious violent teenager thing. Gotta agree with saying this is an upper tier episode.
Also that's a pretty cool shirt. I've got my eye on a few so I should start saving up.

It's times like this that I genuinely feel bad for the people who hate ponies because...oh god...I don't think I've ever laughed this hard for this long.

Yeah, that's definitely the Black Plague fight.
That was the best part of the episode, next to the intro in my opinion (seriously loved assertive Fluttershy).

e: finally watched it
the steroid pony made me laugh a lot...
...but i was expecting a funny episode, and instead i got a heartbreaking yet badass episode. I nearly cried, i could identify myself with Fluttershy, i actually know how it feels to be the "shy and pathetic" guy. While i've never been physically bullied, i was verbally bullied and i was the laughingstock of the class (luckily not anymore since highschool).
Really, the steroids pony was one of the funniest things in the series, but that episode had the biggest mood whiplash i've ever seen. And seeing Fluttershy finally do it, finally reach the 800 wingpower, it was amazing. She truly is one of the best flyers of Equestria. I never thought i would identify myself so much with a pony, but i did (and i already did with Twilight but still).
10/10, it's now my favorite episode. |
