DAT CLIMACTIC SEQUENCE

I found myself grinning like an idiot multiple times during today's episode. This is beautiful.
I can't stop smiling at how classic this episode feels, evil spike is the best spike. Also, Rarity should open a rehabilitation clinic, it'd have a 100% success rate :3

Also, the Wonderbolts prove how useless they usually are as usual, they needs Rainbow to teach them a few tricks.

Can't wait to rewatch in HD
SPOILERS AHEAD

Loved it. I don't know why, but I laughed pretty hard when Rarity said, "It was you who stopped.. er, well you." She said it just right. The episode as a whole was making me laugh constantly. This was for sure one of the best out there.

Spitfire is a plane, Spike climbing up the mountain = King Kong climbing a building with planes attacking him. Cool reference, I actually kinda saw that coming when the Wonderbolts were on their way.

Also were there new characters in the show today? The ones Spike were pestering for gifts? Like for flowers and such. Stealing the leaves were hilarious.
Not my favorite episode but definitely a good one. Zero big complaints. Bonus points for ending differently than I expected (simple greed aesop), using an even bigger cliche, yet somehow working out quite well.

We need more heroic Spike episodes rather than villain spike episodes, though. He's a cool guy but just never seems to have the opportunity to do anything but be the bad guy.

Best part is definitely Spike's confession. D'aww.

Minor complaint: The implication is that Spike will never group up unless he becomes a complete jerk. That would kinda suck. I do hope he can mature normally and not be stuck as a baby dragon forever.

GODZILLA!!! Now the latest episode IS A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
I loved this episode.

Spoilers (kind of)

Does this mean that Spike can never grow up?
(Haven't seen the new episode yet so no comments there.)

Another question to anyone who has ordered a shirt from WeLoveFine. Mine just came yesterday, and I'm wondering if there is an easy way to get both the WeLoveFine and My Little Pony labels off of the back of the shirt. I don't own an iron since I'm poor, so that's pretty much out of the question. Would simply washing it once help, or am I going to need to go through more drastic measures?
Hrm, I have no such labels on my shirts. There's a we love fine label on the inside of the shirt next to the tag, though.

No clue how to surgically remove these things without damaging the shirt.
Looks like I've got a new favorite episode.

<SPOILERS>
Spike was pretty badass as a fully grown dragon. I'd like to see him grow up without greed. I also find it funny that Fluttershy was fascinated with Spike in episode 1 but when he grew up she was terrified of him. Why didn't she just give him "the look" like she did to a dragon that one time? I was expecting her to, but the ending was fantastic anyways. It was so cute. Although I don't see much of a romantic relationship between Spike and Rarity (since he's a child and she's an adult), it was just adorable when he remembered his generosity towards Rarity. And when he told her how he felt, I couldn't help but go "d'aaaaaaaaaaaw".
</SPOILERS>

Yeah, so I loved this episode.

This is definitely my favorite episode. I love Godzilla and the big monster roars and this was pretty damn exciting too. Plus Derpy is in the well, so don't watch the video.

Speaking of Derpy, I didn't see her, but okay. I must have forgotten to say "Hey there, Derpy" in this episode. Oh, well.
I've been rather busy this past week so I haven't posted this yet. I have been watching this show and have been keeping up with the community's creations for awhile. But more importantly:

I did a persuasive speech on this show.

And it went quite well, actually. I didn't get a video recording of it though. :/

245/250 points.
Comments on the rubric: Interesting topic, very good organisation, good examples and set up, good support, very thoughtful, very impressive (prompts? [visuals?] [it's unreadable])

Most of these notes were underlined as well, so it was definitely more praise than on my previous speeches this year. After my speech, my professor said it was very creative and that he may give it a try since he says he can watch SpongeBob for hours at a time.

I had thought about my persuasive strategy for quite a while and was able to squeeze a lot of good points into the speech. It needed to based on Monroe's Motivated Sequence and that fit well with what I had planned. I gained my audience's attention through my build up introduction and I heard a decent amount of chuckling while I played clips from the show. At the end of each speech, the audience was supposed to raise their hand if they have been persuaded/their opinion has changed. Pretty much everyone did after mine, and I noticed that at least one person seemed rather enthusiastic about it. (It was a bit difficult to see since the lights were out since the video part and the projector's light was shining towards me.)

I was a bit more nervous than for my previous speeches, but actually when I actually got up there, I was fine. I worked hard on the speech and knew it should be effective. My class had only 12 people (maybe 9 or 10 showed up that day) so that made it a bit easier. Though that also meant less people to... er "enlighten." Overall, it felt incredibly awesome to do this.

I screen captured the forums here for part of my introduction. The beginning of this thread was what convinced me to watch the show and the relative posts counts on sites like this now demonstrate how unusually popular it is.

Here's my outline. I can post my Open Document format (Open/LibreOffice .odp) presentation and the clips I used if anyone's interested. (I should probably also take the time to add some extra notes for clarity/additional points not actually on the slides) The video part was a good opportunity for me to try video editing. In my case with Kdenlive since I use Linux. The cut off point for some of them wasn't too great though. I was trying to evade sounds during the transition after the part I wanted to show when I probably should have figured out how to actually lower the audio for the last few frames.

Also great episode this week especially because of some of the scenes near the end.

e: Vinny couldn't have said it better. I really want to meet a girl with Twilight or Fluttershy's personality (minus the mental breakdowns)

That's awesome. Win. It's neat that you persuaded classmates to give the show a try, let alone your teacher. I do believe that since I'm sure a lot of them has never seen the show they would classify it right away as girlish just because of the 'My Little Pony' part in the title. Did you at some point in your speech say, "Don't judge a book by its cover."? Because that fits perfectly with this show.

Anyways way to go, that really took courage. Respect.

Awwww she looks so cute, I just want to hug her right now. I don't get anyone's sexually attraction to ponies (or cartoons in general) but I'm sure if I met a lady with a similar personality to Pinkie, she'll be a keeper.

I had to carefully approach the topic to make my speech effective. My first main point is "We dismiss television shows and other media like this based on preconceptions instead of determining whether they have merit in quality", so I did further explain it with that saying, "Don't judge a book by it's cover" because that's essentially what it means.

Also I finished preparing the material from the speech:
Outline (from previous post)
Presentation (with notes in retrospect): (OpenOffice) (PowerPoint)
Video clips used: (Original file [168.1 MB]) (YouTube)
Dat picture. I'm not into the clop stuff (zone archives). The ultimate part girl huh? I love these brony minds.
