| Tip: Don't edit the 8x8 tile of the upper right hand corner of the sideways walking Koopa Troopa in GFX01 (unless you want your coin sparkles to look glitchy). |

Ooh, looks like someone uploaded libsnes9x to the AUR, so I can get it like that. Also, just as an aside, it seems to use the exact same interface as the bsnes version does, so that's neat, I kinda thought it would act differently and I'd have to make a wrapper around it to make it act the same, nice to see it does that intrinsically though..

If it matters for the headered/nonheadered issue, the version of Xkas GUI I've been working on ignores the 'header' command completely, and figures out how to patch based on the ROM size. It was a pretty simple edit, and I'd bet SWR could easily implement it into his builds of xkas.

Alright, I have a new complaint. When I use bsnes, sometimes my input sticks for a bit and either kills me in whatever game I'm playing or otherwise stops me from continuing. This doesn't happen anywhere else, so it's not a problem with my keyboard, it's a problem with the program lagging or something. Could you either add in an option to have lag pause the emulator instead of making it continue, or fix it outright, byuu?
I'm using the latest version.

versions v090 and v091 of the bsnes emulator seemed to have allowed headered ROMs and SMC-based ROMs to run again, but will require using the bundled purify.exe file to load those kinds of ROM files.
here's a guide on how to load ROM files in the recent versions of bsnes, including loading SMC and headered rom files.
starting with v092, bsnes will be renamed to higan as byuu mentioned here.

Question with the Mode 2 thing:
Does it only work because of a game-specific hack? What games is it used in besides Yoshi's Island? And where is it used in YI?
