Anybody remember "Hunter and SCORPION's Bet - SCORPION's Ravage"? (which you can download in my link, it's a featured hack!) Anybody remember a while back, before the D4 Split, that I made a thread about a sequal. Well, now it's back! Hunter and SCORPION's Bet 2, The Twilight Gem!

H&SB2: Twilight Gem "Scorpion's Hunt" Second Demo
What is this?
H&SB2 - Twilight Gem is the sequal to the "SCORPION's Ravage version" of the first "Hunter and SCORPION's Bet" series. This is supposed to be a humorous hack which continues off from the first. Since there was no winner to the previous bet, Hunter and SCORPION are at it again. This time, for a prestigious gem known only as the Twilight Gem. However, unlike the Golden Dollar, this gem can only be found in Twilght Realm. (As seen in Twilight Princess, Legend of Zelda series)

Is it fun?
Don't ask me, try out the demo for yourself and see. Don't forget to rate and review. If not review, atleast rate it. It doesn't take much to rate this a 0, (or a 10) right?

Why is this hack different from the rest?
To be honest, it technically isn't. It doesn't play much different from any other SMW Hack. Sure, you can't die in lava on contact, and you can unlock special abilities, (not seen in the demo) and that the player is a 32x32 SCORPION as seen in The Crater.

Otherwise, this hack is full of hand drawn graphics. And another original story (sorta like in The Crater, and very much like Bet1) that is going to be hilarious.

Don't "not play this hack", give it a while, you might like it.

Just incase you missed it ->Download the Demo!>

Mmm... not bad, SCORPION.
Other than a few... um... quirky palletes, it's looking pretty good so far.
I like it, like your other Hacks...but why are only S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N and Hunter on the Title Screen? Why not Racter and Magna?
I thought it was pretty good so far, It took me a-while to do Scorpians Temple.
also did you use the 35x35 patch for scorpian?

(And Retnuh, meh...)

Maybe there's only going to be versions where you play as Scorp and Hunter? Meh.

Anyways why was Hunter's Path to Power never released? D:
I like this, Good job!
Played it and wrote a review on the hack page .. but since it might get overlooked, I'll paste it here.

I'll be honest before I write this small review - I am not usually a fan of SCORPION's work, since I find his levels to be extremely long and tedious. Seeing that this was a short demo though, I decided to give it a try.

First and foremost, I still find the story of these hacks to be extremely cheesy, and the fourth wall breaking that occurs in this one is a little .. well, hilariously bad to say the least. The whole mishmash of characters that are introduced right off the back are a little absurd for those who haven't played other hacks in this series. I typically wouldn't care, but being that this -seems- to be more of a story-driven hack, I would hope the story could at least be told a bit better.

Aesthetically (visuals/music), this hack is actually very pleasant. Some of the ports are a little iffy though (namely, the little Twilight Palace remix used in Twilight Test). The graphics, on the other hand, are actually very nice throughout. SCORPION's graphical skills have improved vastly over the years, and his work here really showcases it.

As for the level design .. for the most part, it is extremely well done. The first four levels are all very well made and genuinely fun to play. SCORPION's Temple, on the other hand, kind of turns this upside down with some unfortunately bad gimmicks (sorry, but I really don't find the invisible wall idea all that great). Other than that though, the levels in this hack are far superior to previous levels that SCORPION has made. They're the perfect length, perfect difficulty, and creative overall.

That's about all that needs to be said. Like I stated, I wasn't really a fan of SCORPION's other hacks, but this one actually interested me to the point where I'd like to play a future release. Give it a try if you'd like a small change of pace.

8/10
S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N., what I notice most is how your graphical skills have improved so much over the years. I think you have been one of the most improved romhackers I've seen. Keep it up man. I also admire how you have created your own characters, though many of your storyline choices are corny or tacky, it certainly takes a lot of creativity to do what you do. Keep improving, and good luck!
I've been around SCORPION's games ever since I saw MikeGNZ play The Fourth Sector, and I got around to playing it myself. Though those old hacks were quite difficult, I enjoyed them, despite that I see them now as long and tedious.

Looking back, the hacks weren't as amazing as I thought. But in comparison to everything else I saw, it still stood out.

Now jump to 2011. SCORPION's hacks have lost some of my attention, until now. The Bet subseries (if that is what it can be called) piqued my interest when I found out what it entailed. This hack shows that SCORPION and Hunter are still good hackers, and heck, even better hackers than they once were. This hack showcases both an improvement both in graphical design, and level design. The storyline is still as corny and wacky as the predecessors, but I think that is the charm that draws me to these games.

As sad as it may be to no longer see the original Devious Four, I am happy to say that I definitely enjoyed this hack!
Well, Hunter and SCORPION's Bet series isn't a main focus of my projects. It's just something I (and maybe even Hunter) do to get out of the whole "Dark Plot" thing.

About the ammount of characters and stuff. Metalgearhunter and I discussed this after I released this demo. Magna, Racter, and Retnuh will be removed, seeing how it is "Hunter and SCORPION's" bet, not Hunter, Retnuh, Magna, Racter and SCORPION's Bet. Not many people like story driven hacks, (which is something I hate to say) but if it'll get people to play this hack, I'll remove what little story I can. Do remember that this hack was originally planned to have 4 different versions. Now only two.

SNN: personally, I'm glad you enjoyed what little you could of the hack. If you don't like the Twilight Realm port, then I guess I should change it up.

Tatanga: Thank you very much. Definitely some thing I'd like to here. There's got to be some way to get out the word that I'm not a bad hacker.

Courptendo: Yes, I did use the 32x32 patch, with a few bits of re-editing and stuff.

Moose: quirky palletes? Show me now so that I may fix. I want this hack as user friendly as possible. Hopefully, fixed versions of the music I'm using will be released that'll make this hack compatible with SNES9x.
Why just only 2?#w{:s}

4 ways are a way better!
A Crossover of 4 Characters :)
I want to know more about the other villians.
Okay, I'm glad to see that people are playing this; however, putting all of this into motion (with the exception of SNN's) is going to be difficult.

How to change my graphics style... hmm, I'm really hoping some other graphics drawer out there could really help me out here. A lot of people don't seem to like the graphics style I use, and changing it is going to be hard. If anybody has tips to help out, please let me know.
Been a while since I posted an update. But, I finally got a video up. Hope you enjoy! Level 10 of Hunter and SCORPION's Bet 2 - The Twilight Gem. This level, as seen in the beginning, has a secret exit, and only accessed via Twilight Realm. However, I didn't want to show anybody where it was. Why? Well, that's a secret. Tehehe.

I like the Video...I still waiting for more =D
New tileset I drew up yestarday, now I officially have 3 different grassland tilesets. What's more, I even drew up a not so good background. I was in a hurry to finish it anyways.

By the way, for those who are confused with the story at the beginning of the demo; well, be confused no more. I have officially remade the beginning. Now the plot (or hack) only concerns Hunter and SCORPION's bet between each other, and hopefully (for the player) the antagonist of the H&SB1 won't try anything to hold them both back. However, we all know Winston is going to be in this one as well.
That's a pity! Then it won't be different from the first Part...
But there will be two Versions, won't they?

I like the GFX, especially the diagonally Stripes.

Yes, I knew some people would be disappointed; but the Devious Four Chronicles isn't what it used to be. Hardly anybody knows these characters except Hunter and SCORPION, whom of which made a name for themselves on this site. Not to mention, I want to keep it a sequel of the original.

Grassland Level Video

Otherwise, I'll update the demo for more playability after Castle 3 is made. I really like where this hack is going, hopefully I can keep the attention.
The Rhino- and Chuckdrones looks very, very well. But why do Scorpion fight against his own Drones?...Or are they Hunter's?
Hey, this again. Anyways, I haven't updated in a while I thought I might. Here is a level for you all to take a look into when you'd like.
Please click the pic.
