Hey everybody, I am back with a new hack! Called "Yoshi's hunt" you must navigate through 6 large and colorful levels each with a distinctive theme (i.e chocolate, forest etc) All major bugs and glitches have been fixed and a nonlinear style has been adopted as there is hidden bonus bandit huts awaiting,
The IPS. I currently have is a demo and includes the first level and training level, the level is called "The fort of burt" and is a long level which features many burts and keys, not to mention secrets!

Oh and dont go too hard on me as I'm still relatively new to the complex hacking of smw 2!

expect the main game in late April, early may.

Levels expected in main game
1-1 The fort of burt ✔
1-2 Chocolato fields ✔
1-3 Green forest ✔
1-4 The blarrg pit ✔
1-5 boo's chapel ✔
1-6 The Grand finale ✔
1-7 --Surprise level-- ✔

✔= Level is 100% complete

This Is going to be expected to be my first Complete project complete with Hex edits, custom palettes etc

ETC of hack, 1'st of may

The initial thought of how many levels were going to be in the hack was only 3, although I have decided on creating 6 levels due to motivation.

Now a C3 exclusive!

The hack is 100% complected and I am not expecting to make any further updates on the hack.

EDIT: I completely Revamped a room in 1-3 and added a new BG3 also.

Tag (span) was not closed.
Tag (b) was not closed.

The worst criticism I can give you is that the contrast between the background trees and the orange sky in the first screenshot is too much. It's very good-looking otherwise. (I haven't actually played the hack yet...)

Also, why not make a full hack? 4 levels is kind of short, unless you plan on making each of them very long.

Yeah, maybe a blue background sky would be more fitting, and maybe if I get more nice positive feedback from the users I might expand the hack a few more levels or so.

Oh and if you can, please try the hack see what you think of it! #w{=D}
I played this hack. Some ideas were nice, but there are some things you should fix:

Wrong starting position, move it one tile down.

Too many trees... the sound is a bit annoying.

The slopes are looking weird.

I could jump up there, and there's just nothing. Nothing big, though.

The player can get trapped here.

Cutoff(?)

This is looking strange.

This enemy is just hopping into the lava. Also, you placed the other enemies (forgot name) badly.

Got trapped.

What are these blocks for?

You can get trapped again.

The player can get unlimited items here.

I killed the enemies and... got trapped. (At least I can re-enter the minigame.)

I was able to walk on the ceiling.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but I think there was no key in this room... only some in the room before.

Because there were so many keys, I couldn't use two of them.

I can't leave this level...

(I'm sorry for any grammar (and other) mistakes I made...)

You see, there are many things you should fix... the player can get trapped, and there are too many useless keys. The rest of the level was okay!

Thank you for pointing them out, I'll fix them. A bit trivial but did the level name "The fort of Burt" and "Were back" show up when you started the levels?

Yes, they did.
@Catobat and xxxzzz1:
Yoshi's tongue here is wrong by default. It's a palette error Nintendo made. In order to equalize all of Yoshi's tongue outlines do the following:

Change [D2 10] at 0x1FA246 to [12 00]
Change [55 3D] at 0x1FA264 to [12 00]
Change [D2 10] at 0x1FA2DC to [12 00]
Change [D2 10] at 0x1FA2FA to [12 00]

Sorry. Removed it #w{=)}
If a post contains a lot of images, please don't quote the entire post, all right?

Actually, it's recommended that you try to avoid quoting images in general, unless you need to quote one so people can tell which image you're referring to.

A new demo has been released with Four levels each of these levels will be in the completed hack and the level in the demo include:

1-1 The fort of Burt
1-2 The chocolato field
1-3 The green forest
1-4 The Blarrg pit

Please try the demo out because honestly I spent allot of time using Transhextion and trying to get the blarrgs to animate properly, which for a user who is somewhat new to YI hacking, can be a challenge if you don't no what you are doing.

And some screenies of course!

It's great that you fixed most of the errors of your previous demo! But unfortunately, there's still much you should fix.
I took 32 snapshots, so I combined 4 of them to make one big picture this time.

1: Still wrong starting position
2 and 3: I can still get up there, but it's not too bad, I think.
4: The red coin with that sound is just coming out of nowhere.

1: I got trapped again
2: Again, if I don't have a key
3: Super trap
4: I took every key I found and opened every locked door... but there's one door too much!

1 and 4: Another way to get trapped ):
2: Some weird camera problem, I don't know why...
3: I can jump into that slope!

1: Cutoff
2: Trapped
3 and 4: Another wrong starting position.

1 and 2: I thought there is something down here... and now I have to kill myself.
3: You can enter that pipe and die.
4: Another slope.

1: The same problem...
2: Down there is a red coin. But how can I get up again?
3: Invisible floor and little cutoff (floor + wall)
4: The Blargg could somehow hit me there, it's a bit annoying since I didn't really touched it.

1: You can't hit that switch.
2: Big cutoff
3: A fourth time...
4: Wrong starting position, this time I'm standing in the floor...

1: I can swim to a previous area.
2: More invisible floor and I got hit from something I can't see.
3: Another pipe that wants to kill the player.
4: This isn't looking correct.

And one more thing: Every level is 100%-able, but some of them only with items that give you stars. I also couldn't find any midrings, although the levels were pretty long and should have at least one or two.

If you fix all these, it would be a very good hack! #w{=D}

Thanks for the feedback and positive response, like before I will try my hardest to remove some of the errors and I should have this hack 100% before the C3 in May. ;) Besides its only a 6 level long hack.
My hack is currently 98% Complete and requires Beta testing, If anybody wants to be a beta tester please PM me or reply to this thread.

Beta testers will have credit for their work as this hack is now a C3 exclusive.

If you do, however want to beta test, PM me the problems or glitches you encountered. The deadline for testing is this Thursday.

Thank you.
I'll take a look at it. Mind you, I'll probably look at it from a casual player's perspective, and just make sure that everything is 100%-able, that you can't get stuck anywhere, etc. I'm sure that any other testers that jump on can be more thorough with level design, graphical stuff, and other things of that nature.

(Also, despite my LPing career, rest assured that I won't LP it - even if I wanted to right now, I have too many other projects on the run as is lol)
Sorry, I'm afraid Catobat is already BETA testing the hack, Saying that I'm afraid the BETA testing is over, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Although stay tuned for the C3 when the hack will be officially released!

Thanks for you'r offer anyway! #w{=D}
That's cool. I'll definitely take a look at it when it's released this weekend :D
