“To rid ourselves of our shadows, we must step into either total light or total darkness”
Jeremy Preston

Welcome to the Elegy Of The Shadows thread, heroes and villains, the purpose of this thread is to show a (very) little bit about a hack that Uhrix, GN and myself decided to make, The hack is still very beta, and it have about to no progress, but i'll talk about a little about it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Storyline
---------------------------------------------------------------------
not decided yet, but we are aiming for a dark and mysterious plot, with lot's of creepy and secret stuff.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The gameplay will be based on the Lost in the Shadows for Wii, where the player will lose his shadow and will only interact with the shadow of the objects, with various puzzles around it. There will be about 10 levels, we plan on having a pretty diversified array of themes That will go from outdoor ruins, to flooded factories,

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Graphics
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The graphics will all be custom and with a realistic 3D style, Draw by Uhrix and me, wait for some quality stuff on this.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Music
---------------------------------------------------------------------
We plan on having only custom tracks for it, Blind devil will help us with it, i'm sure he will make really great musics for us.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
ASMers Request
---------------------------------------------------------------------
For such a deep project, we need some persons with asm knowledge, and so are requesting users to help us to code some things regarding the hack. If you want to help us with this stuff, send us a PM, plweaswe sdon't post it in this thread, let's leave it for feedback only.

Now let's stop with all this talking and let us show you all some little things.

A box art i did during the C3 for the hack.

And a small picture showing the a bit of the graphics and gameplay.

Thanks for taking the time to visit this thread, and please leave some feedback, so we know we have an initial support to make this hack a good one. Talking About Support, here is a support bar, if you want to put this beautiful support in your sig, go aheads =)

Uhrix, GN and Me hope you Have a Nice C3.

That looks lovely! You are one amazing drawer, TheGamer! I totally love the look of that. The graphics you've drawn also look superb.

Keep up the great work! <:
I don't understand any of this! #w{x(}
Something about shadows and interacting with them...
Impressive drawings. I will do something like that in the future.

You're a shadow. You can only interact with shadows, the rest of the environment is sorta "decoration" that the shadows come from.

Anyways, cool. Can't wait to play it!
Really nice to see you managed to put up this thread, also with a surprizing nice concept art image! I'm looking forward to start bringing to prosejct to life when I get the time on my hands. Its truly the most creative gimmick I've seen for a long time and it not worth to be trown away.

I made a video of our early Gameplay concept test, link below...

Gameplay concept (Video)

As you can see, Mario is a shadow walking on the shadows coming from the real foreground. We are planing on making many different puzzles to this gimmick, thats all I can say right now.

Excellent drawings, TheGamer! The style of it is really nice and the hack itself sounds great! I'll almost certainly be playing this one.
This looks pretty awesome. Are you going to be able to do the shadow-twisting effects that Lost in Shadow had, or would that require advanced ASM?
=o

Really nice gimmick =3

And while I doubt think it will be simple, if you can make moving lighting this will automatically be one of the best hacks ever =P
You should be able to reproduce the effect using transportation, at least.
I could tell from the name that this would be awesome.
And wow... thats a bloody cool idea you have there. I'm liking this a lot! Can't wait to play this!

Beautiful art also, by the way. The details are fantastic.
Thanks for all the awesome feedback guys, wwe will make everything to this hack be as good as possible.

I'm also really glad that you all liked the artwork i did for this =3
Hope you all liked the little gameplay showoff Uhrix showed, as you all can see, it's pretty beta, but it will be greatly improved =)

About the Light gimmincs, we hope we can make them, wwe will try hard to implement great light tricks and some clever gimmicks.

Once again, thanks for all the kind words, we really appreciate it.

So, any more comments?
As always, I really, really, Really envy your style.

Apart from the missed opportunity to call it Dirge of the Darkness (and that wouldn't even make sense in context) I think it will be great... If you can pull it off.

I do kinda see the shadow becoming more of a hindrance than an gimmick. I guess the important thing to remember here is to have moving light as an equal to moving shadow.
