QuoteI didn't really think this song would be possible to port; it seemed as though it had way to many instruments going off at once to even be feasible. But hey look, here it is; I've finally ported one of my all-time favorite Touhou songs! It would be great for intense, long lasting boss battles. Note that this song expects channel #7 to be off, so put "LDA #$20 STA $FreeRAM+1" into levelinit.asm, where FreeRAM is the FreeRAM you used in INIT.asm. For example, if I used $7F0E00 as free RAM, I'd put "LDA #$20 STA $7F0E01" in.
Download!
Yeah, I don't know if this really deserved its own thread, but it certainly didn't belong in the Y.I.P.E.S. thread so...

Yay! I really like this song! It really sounds like a battle theme, even in SMW!

Although this is not my most favorite song from Touhou 8 (but still a pretty good one!), your port sounds very well done. It could even fit to some epic battles in SMW hacks. It's so great to see that more and more Touhou songs get ported. now i just want to hear a demystify feast port

I've been looping this for the past twenty minutes and it eventually just became a part of what's going on around. Naturally, this means a song is good. I wish I was more familiar with the original so I could provide more detailed feedback, but eh.

Yeah, what SNN said pretty much sums up my reaction too - just now I looked at winamp and noticed that it had been looping for about 16 minutes without me even realizing it, as I was going around and making some of my other last-minute C3 posts and stuff. Very good job on this! IN had some really memorable music, and so it's always great to see stuff from it getting ported. :3

Heh, thanks guys. But I just feel I should point out (perhaps a bit too late) that this song sounds significantly worse in Winamp than other players (like this one), as the drums really sound off and the @4 comes off as a touch too quiet.
Also, for the record, I probably lost a bit of sanity trying to the piano's notes at 2:22+ right. And I would have lost the rest of it if AddmusicM didn't have a "toggle echo on this channel" command.

There's a difference between recognizing a piece of music on the surface and actually knowing everything about the song down to the notes, samples, ADSR, etc. Listening once isn't going to help with that I'm afraid.
(also, I use spcplay.exe, so I didn't notice anything off. Then again, Winamp is pretty much ZSNES of music players, so...)

The same thing happened to me.
This is one of the better Touhou final boss themes in my opinion (if you consider Eirin to be a final boss in the first place, considering she's not the true final boss). (Maybe I should play FinalA more often...)
