Tip: The multiple midpoints patch can also be used to move a level's normal midpoint.

GREAT NEWS!!!

It seems my dad has decided to surprise me by signing me up for a summer camp from June 26th to July 2nd!

This combined with the fact that I only have one out of five planned channels complete, means that my R2 submission will unfortunately have to be my last for this contest.

I'm truly sorry about this. I didn't want this to happen and it pains me to bring this sorry news to you.

:(

actually

Since pretty much -everyone- is struggling with this round, I'm extending the deadline. Instead of Sunday morning, you now have until Wednesday morning at 7:30 EST. Everything else is just getting bumped up a week, including the judging deadline, so you get a decent resting period too... and you, Moose, will still be able to come back for round 3 if you win against Kipernal.

I hope you have fun at summer camp.
This round is a tough one. I had planned to remix other songs than the ones I'm doing actually. But the first attempt didn't turn out so good since the beginning. So, I've decided to select other two and start from scratch. The actual songs I've selected are pretty "ridiculous", I would say, to make a single remix or a normal port. But even the simplest songs are extremely hard to me to remix together.

I'm working on the actual remix since Monday, and I've made a progress of almost 50%. Don't know if it'll have a good score, but I'm putting a lot of effort on it. I would like to tell more details, but I want to make a surprise for everybody. I'll just tell that in this little period of time I've learned new things.

I desire the best of luck to all, too. Hope I can see more wonderful things in this Idol.

I like how pretty much all of us went into this round complaining about how much we suck at remixing, and then all of us came out with something wicked to show for it. Seriously, I have yet to listen to a remix that round that I would even call "good" - mostly because they're all beyond that.

This will be a tough round for the judges.
I'm damn impressed that the majority of the entries were sampled this round. Only ThinkOneMoreTime and Moose have made theirs without samples. No, I'm not underrating these entries - they are great, and they can stand a chance against their rivals. If I couldn't manage to learn the arts of $E5, my song would be unsampled, too.

But, about all the actual entries: same as S.N.N. said - with all these masterpieces, it'll be a tough round for the judges.

I'm just disappointed with Camerin... Ohh man, why didn't you submit anything? I was very curious...
camerin might have been in the same boat i was in on round 1, in my case, i wasnt home at all during it until it was too late
And that's that.

Congrats to you Slash Man, and to the other winners this round. I'm especially looking forward to hearing which tracks the finalists will port. Non-VGM is always fun.
Why did the judges like the transitions in my port so much; I thought they felt tacked on and out of place (at least for use in a video game).

Anyway, *shakes Moose's hand* congratulations, Moose; you'd better go out there and beat Slash Man in my place! No offense intended to Slash Man, obviously.

Why is everyone always out to get me!? ;_;

Anywho, I really thought SNN's would have smashed mine, mine seemed...simple in my opinion. Anyway, great game everyone thus far!
I kind of feel sorry for TOMT, since he did a really amazing job. Anyway, congratulations to all those people who've passed this round!

Round 3 is going to be less tough for me. Phew.. :> , but I still can't be careless.
Congratulations to all that have made it through the second round!

Well, I have a bit more fear of this round... Actually, I did read some definitions about the only key signatures allowed for this round (South Division) and other definitions, like what's an accidental and so on. The only problem is that, even after reading and understanding everything, I'm not feeling safe to make my entry. I may use an accidental without knowing when and how, or do another thing that can disqualify me.

But guys, don't worry about me, though. No one needs to help me in this situation. I'll try to make it alone. If for some reason I don't do what I've learned, a disqualification shall be the best way to learn in fact.
Don't be so worried @Blind Devil. Just remember though, when it comes to those key signatures, keep F#, C# and G# in them, don't put flats or sharps on any other notes. If worst comes worst, you can still compete for the bronze.
Well, thanks for the tip there, Slash. I've just found that my concern is about F#-minor's harmonic (I mean, the E# thing). I don't know if using F instead would be an accidental. It's very confusing to me. If someone could clarify this, I would be very grateful.
You don't need f#-minor's harmonic. At long as your chord progression is mostly in minor with those 3 sharps, it's f#-minor. If they're Major chords, then it'll be A-Major. Personally it's harder for me to compose in f#-minor than it is with A-Major.

Ugh. Bad news, Kip. I didn't find out about this until on the car ride to Summer Camp, but it turns out I'm going to be spending quite some time in Chicago (In other words, away from the computer I use for porting music). How long exactly I can't say. I tried asking my Mom and she dismissed me for being rude.

Long story short... I... may have failed you.:(
Aww man, Moose, that's a shame. I was really looking forward to us competing. D:

You're definitely one of the top porters here. It would have been fun. Well if you do manage to stay and port then I'll be happy. I don't want a default victory on my conscience.

EDIT: (24 hour wait period, curses)
I made a set of possible badges SNN said we could use for SMWCI.

- For people who participated.

- Battle for the Bronze.

- Second place final round. (obviously)

- I think you know. =P

Ohh man, now I'm pretty sure that I've lost Round 3... My song is too simple to withstand the power of Masashi27's Enchanted Riverbank port...

At least I have the Battle for the Bronze (even if I get disqualified, right?). But damn, I wanted so hard first place. Looks like I'll never win a contest in my life. [/melodrama]

Blind Devil, don't worry. My Enchanted Riverbank port has accidentals. I even couldn't include the echo fix y'know? There is a chance for me to get low marks for complexity (or get disqualified.. :S), so. Eh, we will see :P

I'm very, very tense...

After looking at the minisite, I saw Atma's scores for all Round 3 entries, and the news: that Moose won't be able to compete for 3rd place due to the disqualification. That's sad. And also I compared the current score of my entry with Masa's entry: man, I'm behind by 0.5 points... What a challenge.

And after seeing that both of us seem to haven't been disqualified, anyone who win can consider it a fair victory. Then, I just wish good luck to Masashi27 for the actual round.

The question: Who's gonna face the final boss...?

Well, even if I lose, I can duel with Slash Man. Just open an emulator and start playing Megaman 7, heh.

Oh ho ho, witty...very witty my friend. =P
don't use freeze cracker! D:

In all seriousness though, it's nothing to get worked up about really. Just a little healthy competition for fun here.

Yes, I know... But when I'm participating of a contest, the will to get first place goes into my head very hard. That's because I, in all seriousness (real life), too, have never won a contest in my life, due to unfair judging or playing from part of other people. I have trauma of unfair competitions, and I think that here on SMWC is the only place where I can rely on judges and contestants. All that I want is not a prize, but a fair victory itself got by merit. I won't calm down until I get that.
So, please, don't go easy on me this round. Let's have some fun, for the sake of the sportsmanship! (PS: this is not supposed to be a threat)
