Yes, the title is written correctly. There are no spaces in this show's title, just a semicolon.

So, Steins;Gate, as it is called, is an anime adaptation of a game that was released for the Xbox 360 in 2009. I've never owned nor played the Xbox game - I'm just here to talk about the aforementioned adaptation that is on its 12th episode at the time of writing this post.
The show is an intriguing story about a group of young adults who accidentally build a machine that can send text messages up into the past. Meanwhile, a man calling himself John Titor, and who allegedly traveled back in time from the year 2036, has been posting warnings on the internet regarding a dystopian future in which an all-powerful organization called CERN has more or less gained control over all the world's technology. As the characters experiment with the strange device they have mistakenly created, they are slowly and unknowingly beginning to entangle themselves in a mysterious and disturbing conflict that they do not understand.
The main character, Rintarō Okabe, is a self-proclaimed "mad scientist." He has a visage of arrogance and acts delusional at times, but in reality isn't that bad a guy. His personality is eccentric and unique, setting him apart from other animes' lead characters. He is joined by Daru, who's a fat, otaku-obsessed hacker, Mayuri, a childhood friend and sister-figure, and Kurisu Makise, an 18 year old prodigy who has already made a name for herself in the scientific community as a neurologist.
The writing and animation of this anime are top-notch, and had me hooked from the very first episode. I highly recommend this show to anyone who wants to see an anime that provokes thought and strays from the norm. You will definitely not be disappointed.

Well, the show is not for everyone, so if it doesn't interest you as much that's fine - I would like to mention, though, that the past 3 episodes or so (episodes 10, 11, and 12) have been really raising the feeling of mystery and suspense as the situation is getting more complicated as well as more dire. Not gonna spoil anything, but episode 12 hits pretty hard at the end - and that's only the halfway point of the series, since it's planned to have 24 episodes.

I am actually addicted to this show, the socially awkward characters and the humour all mixes well. Just, guh... Fanpost.
But yeah, the latest episode was pretty "out there" and it's really sad .____. (Hopefully something makes up for it).

Bump is necessary!(and double post)
I don't think many people are watching this show anymore but that last episode (22) was pretty darn dramatic and with only two episodes left and whats coming I think anyone who dropped this show should really give it another chance, it's without a doubt my favourite this year and I haven't been this gripped by a show in a good few months.
To anyone that is still watching it, I'd like to hear your opinions on the latest episode (22).

Oh gosh, I know...this episode made me almost want to cry ;_;
I really wonder what's going to happen in these final two episodes - is it going to all be resolved somehow? If so, how? Or will it be a cliffhanger, with a hook for a possible second season?
I want to knoooow! @_@;

I highly doubt there will be a second season, but if there will be, man, that would be awsome.
I just wanna know how it ends now ;___; It's gripped me to this point, I'm just hoping it doesn't pull out something awfull at the end!

Need a double post just to say how rewarding and amazing it was to watch this anime 'till the end, the first few episodes were boring but played that subconcious important part at the end. This is now my favourite anime, and what an amazing ending. I'd reccomend this to ANYONE who watches anime as long as they can tank through the first 5 or so episodes.
Also movie announced!!!!!

Sounds like I should give the show another chance. I remember dropping it after the second episode... then again, that's when I generally lost interest in anime.
..now it's starting to pile up again. It's a vicious cycle. D:

Happened to me this season, the only anime that I kept up to date with was Baka To Test, Stiens and Beelzebub.
Although I dunno if I could ever stop altogether for a while and come back to it, doesn't feel right to me...

"Hey mister. I am mad scientist. It's so cool! Sonuvabi*ch."
One of the funniest (if not the funniest) scenes of the anime.
Anyway, I watched all the episodes. It's really awesome, the final was very good unlike most animes with a badly made ending. Tie to watch out for the movie!
* - could be bad putting it at the site.
