Tip: Never put a Hammer Brothers Sprite near lava. After being killed, it will still throw hammers until it sinks or goes off-screen.

Sounds good to me.

Link. Note that this site is not meant to be a completely comprehensive, end-all site like SMWCentral is, but more of a collection of resources so that we can finally have them all in one place.

A note to anyone with hacks in the hack section: if you feel like you can provide a better description of your hack than what's already there (and you probably can), then post what you'd prefer it to be here (temporary until submitting hacks, tutorials, etc. is possible like with the ROM/RAM maps).

Recent changes:

01/07/11:
  • You can now submit addresses to the ROM and RAM maps; credit to Alcaro for inspiration on how to get it to work.
  • Added a link to the Wiki on the navigation bar.
  • Added the RAM addresses tehaxor69 added to the Wiki.
  • Fixed the links in the hacks section.
  • Added NEW! Yoshi's Island to the hacks section.
  • Fixed the dates for SMW2+ and SMW2+2.

06/07/2011
  • Removed the ROM and RAM map sections due to redundancy.
  • Added the Tools section.
  • (Later) Re-added the ROM and RAM map sections, but made them link to the ones on the wiki.
  • A little bit of link CSS editing.

Now that we have an official thread, we can easily discuss the website without the problem of hacking related questions burying it.

Anyway, whenever the tutorial or FAQ section is created, I recommend adding this BG3 image document created by doggy. BG3 Download

Also, The YI hacking wiki has a thread on the forum if you want to discuss anything about that.

EDIT: I don't know how hard this would be to code but I was thinking of something like a featured hack system whenever you have the "submit a hack" function ready.

Well... old time ago... SMW Central was database for stuff - such as graphics. The talk was mainly on AcmlmBoard.

(technically I wouldn't mind porting this site to SQL database - like SMWC, if somebody will agree, I have space to throw all files and stuff...)

Also, SMW2+ was released on August 22, 2005 (not 2006) and SMW2+2 was released on April 17, 2008 if we want detail, according to old outdated author blog...

It would be easy, but there aren't enough hacks to warrant a Featured Hack system, really.

I appreciate the offer, but for now I don't think it's too necessary. If resources start pouring in, though, I will probably take you up on it.

Whoops; I thought I fixed that earlier. It's actually fixed now.

I guess so, but maybe three of the best hacks could be featured and I am in completion of a new hack. or you could implement a little rating system like here in the Central.

And what exactly is a SQL database?
Another update. I removed the ROM and RAM maps, since I figured them to be redundant; we already have them on the wiki (they still exist, but there's no link to them). You can find them here and here. I also added the Tools section, so if I missed anything, be sure to let me know.
Why not add links to the wiki ROM and RAM maps?

Also, on the hacks page, the way the download links become bold if you hover the mouse over them results in glitchiness if the bolding is enough to result in a new line break (which then moves the link so the mouse isn't over it, which then removes the line break, which moves the link back, and so on)...

Alright, both are done (dunno why I didn't think of your first suggestion...).
I like how you integrate the wiki's ROM and RAM pages into the website, do you have anymore plans for the site?
well the ROM Map & RAM Map pages need to be updated bigtime as there's a lot of ROM addresses & RAM address to be added.

Take a look at TASVideos Yoshi's Island SNES page:
http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/SNES/YoshisIsland.html

It mentions a bunch of SuperFX RAM addresses that the RAM Map page of YI Central is currently lacking.
Well, if it's a YI Site we are talking about, then it should obviously
be the sequel to the SMW site XD (Get it?)
F.A.Q. and tutorials pages are nonexistent...
Yeah, all those YI-related projects are not that advanced yet or haven't been worked on for a long time, so it's best to stick to SMWCentral. Most info can be found in the "Helpful Offsets"-thread and specific info about questions people have (had) can be found in the FAQ-thread.
