Alright, first part of my overhaul to make the game better:
I've changed around the classes a little. You have the choice to change your class if you want, or stick with your old one.
Edit: Why the hell do spoilers not. Bloody. Work like anywhere else.
@Ania The book cover is adorned with images of sea creatures including the Lethiathan, but you can't understand the arcane fonts the book is writen in. You sense, however, that it has great power.
@Miracle? You arrive at the inn, which is both closed and evacuated. Looks like the commotion caused scared the customers off.
Before the grandmaster can pull himself off the walls of the arena, the sage chains him in place with bars of arcane energy.
The sage then begins to charge a ball of lightening, before dispelling it at the sound of the announcer's voice.
The sage is delcared the victor of the opening match! It'll be a while before the next fight though.
Edit: Screw you kieran your bloody spoilers aren't actual spoilers.

Oh dear... looks like this book is something I cannot read at the moment...
Make mental note of the book, and head to the arena.

Now, to cover the mechanics(which I never did)
Defence/Magic Defence: A flat reduction to damage. This takes place after Armour.
Armour: This reduces Physical and Energy damage by a percentage using the equasion D*A, where D is the incomeing damage and A is the number on the Y axis, using this graph. You can go far higher than 400 armour, but the returns are horrible aparently perfectly good. I did some maths, and 200 armour effectively gives you 100% bonus health. 400 gives you 200%, etc.
As Michael leaves the arena, a mass of black smoke forms together. The person in front of him is a facsimile of himself, appearing exactly the same bar the fact that where any flesh would be exposed, he is simply wraped in black bandages. The imatation, who is clearly a Devoid, speaks out. "I have been sent to test you, we believe you are simply not as strong as the others. I will show you the meaning of agony, rip the jacket of your being such as a toad rips a goose."
Anyone who hasn't realise now should realise the Devoids have stupid metaphores.

[7:46:51 PM] Latukas: Protip
[7:47:11 PM] Latukas: Devoids can't be hurt by physical attacks
[7:47:18 PM] Latukas: And take little damage from magic.
[7:47:32 PM] Latukas: They also take no damage from PSI attacks
[7:47:47 PM] Latukas: Try energy moves, like Mizar's gun
[7:48:05 PM] Latukas: Although keep in mind that magical energy moves are just magic moves.
I think my best bet is to get the crap out of there. That'll probably fail, though, so I'll keep my distance and use Aura on myself, then Electric Smite on him as much as I can. That's the closest thing I have to an energy attack.

You get to choose three trees out of the five offered, and in those three trees, you're given a list of skills to work up 100 points towards. At the 100 point mark there is a new tree for that set of skills.
