So I got this new laptop called "HP Pavilion dv7 notebook PC" I believe.
For some reason, when you dont touch anything for a minute or so, it goes back to the login-screen (Windowsbutton + L). I've already tried to edit this through the Control Panel and "Power Settings?" or whatever its called. There I've set so that whether the laptop has a energy cable plugged or not, it will "Never" darken the screen, turn of the screen or go into sleep mode.
I know you can edit this somewhere else and with a little help from a networking classmate we found another of these kind of settings somewhere in the computer folder methinks.
So, through the ordinary way of setting so that this should not happen, we have already done. But still for some reason it keeps doing it.
Sometimes, however, it doesn't. Like when you have a game on that has fullscreen, the computer does not go back to login screen. So perhaps theres some sort of driver causing this to happen...?
I have honestly no idea how to solve it from this point, as I've done everything I can (which actually worked on my previous W7 laptop).
I've tried to google, but I can't really find what I need.
Anybody familiar with this kind of thing? Please reply if you are.
Just tell me if anything is (much too) unclear.

I know it's a new laptop, but still, are you using Windows 7?

Hmm, I usually know my way around this stuff in XP... oh well.
By the way, how long is your screensaver set to? There is an option in the personalization menu about displaying the login screen.

Basically, find the option in control panel that dictates "Require Password on wake"
Control Panel > System and Security > Power Options > Require Password on wake
