I've done it guys. I updated Super Mario Bros DX with a HUGE change. This version is called Super Mario Bros Special Edition and celebrates the 25th of the first Super Mario Bros. After World 8 you play the levels from SMB 2 Japan so go to Wentwood 2 and look for it in the files uploaded section. See the read me for it if you guys want to refine the game to add SMB 2 J 6 - 8. But the official 2nd quest is now in play. I used Peter AC's Lost Levels 2 patch to re swap levels.

I just have one thing to say about this hack: WHAT?


Okay, first off, are you remaking SMB1 or SMB2? The first two levels are 1-1 and 1-2 from SMB2, but the rest of the levels are from SMB1.

Second of all, there is horrible cutoff in many levels, particularly one in world 3, but I don't remember which level it was.

Third, the castle blocks had an ugly yellow color on them for no reason.

Fourth, I think you accidentally all the sprites in the castles from world 2's castle onward.

Fifth, the fish bridge level had no jumping fish (no enemies at all, actually), and 4-1 had no Lakitu until the second half of the level.

Sixth, there were a few levels that had TONS OF STARS! I mean it was like every block had a star in it! It first happened at some point in world 2, and then in a few more levels in world 3.

Seventh, 4-2 has two warp zones, but you can only use one of them. Furthermore, activating said warp zone does nothing on the overworld.

Finally, you can't progress past 4-3, as completing it does nothing.

All in all, this hack needs A LOT of work. We generally frown upon remakes here, anyway, but this one is particularly bad. There are numerous errors throughout the hack, including the aforementioned one that makes it impossible to continue past world 4-3. You also need to remember that SMB1/2 had vastly different physics from SMW, so most of the levels can be run through very quickly with hardly any challenge; they don't exactly present a challenge with the SMW engine.
there is a game on Sharp X1 made by Hudson Soft, it is Super Mario Bros Special.

You can add those levels into your hack as a Bonus content or something. you can find it on VGmaps.com

Uh, that was a bump. And he is inactive, so he probably isn't gonna add any "bonus content" to the hack....
