I think to protect code / data you have to at the start of your new code place the characters RATS in sequence, a 16bit value of how many bytes you want to reserve and than a 16bit value which is the inverse of how many bytes you want to reserve (to avoid false positives).
I did that. I thought Lunar Magic would automaticly detect RATS tags

Actualy wait... don't you use the actualy use the sequence STAR?

You can make a custom block that gives Mario an extra heart. That way, you can keep 3-up Moons.

Just a suggestion, hope it helps!
I think I found another glitch with it, when you go into a level your big right, but when you go back in a level you start as small.

Aside from no health up items, I think so... I am a little paranoid that as soon as I upload it to the site someone will find a new bug though. XD

No, actualy I have spent the last few days messing around with Lunar Magic and makeing a new overworld map thingy. Can't you just make a custom sprite yourself for that? XD

Mushrooms already do that, I just need an item to incresce your max health. :3
Would you be able to release an alternet version of this patch so Mario is ALWAYS fire mario?It would really be useful for some hacks.

Wouldn't it be easer to use that always can fire fireballs patch? Anyway, thats why I included the ASM. :P
Hey, I made a custom sprite to increese your max HP, but I am not quite done because it dosn't store what ones you have gotten. I think I am gonna turn MarioMaxHealth and LuigiMaxHealth into bitflags and count the bits somehow at the start of a level for your current max health. Anyway for the time being the sprite is here

In semi-related news, I also made a thing that disables the spinjump untill you collect an item, then you will be able to spinjump freely for the rest of the game. I may do it with other things too, like I was thinking of disableing the extra boost you get when you bounce on enemys with the B button pressed untill you found an item too.

You know I was thinking a while ago, maybe instead of replaceing the cape for things like ice power, I could hack the fire flower fireing thing to shoot something else if some byte is set or something. Then you could like have lotsa diffrent shooting abilitys... after all you couldn't use them all at once anyway. XD

P.S.: Wanna know a REAL insane project I thought about doing sometime? Multible item storage slots you could switch between with L/R. XD Or maybe at the very least a SMB3 item system on the overworld... SMB3 was so much cooler when it came to items. >_>
