We can just shrink the logo if it's in the way. I think the main concern is the background image right now anyway, so if you want to work around it right now, you can.
You could even try drawing your own logo in, if you want. We can see how that works out.

alright then:

I think i'm working on it directly on mspaint (or photoshop, which is nicer) and use Edit's BG ripping tool instead of using YY-CHR.
EDIT: i could remove the A.

The A/An isn't supposed to be there anyway, but quite honestly..
I don't really like that title logo at all, it looks way too small and simple (even if it'll be coloured), Mario games usually have much bigger, colourful and sketchy fonts, kind of exactly like what Teyla made.
I'd really like it more if you somehow incorporated Teyla's logo into your screen instead of this, especially since we kind of spent a lot of time choosing/optimizing this one for our needs.
The title screen itself still looks nice though, so don't worry about that.

I agree. I love the image so far, and I think it'll look fantastic in the cartoony/colored style, but when I said "try your own logo", I basically meant what leod said - that is, find a way to make something big and colorful.
And lose the A/An, as well. For now, just the SMWCPII should be fine.

I agree with leod; the current logo has been discussed a lot of times, and it'll be a real shame (and most likely cause an uproar) if it's not used after all the discussion...

ahah
I still can do the logo separately, actually, so there is time for it i think. If Teyla's logg should pass definitively, at least, there should be a way to shrink it.
As said, i propose: if people like it, well, if don't... too bad i'll change it. Even if the title was rushed somehow :/

If the bosses aren't animated to pop up individually I will be disappointed (I can't think of any examples to explain what I'm saying...).

No, i understood: a little like Kirby's games, yes? Well, for that we need custom sprites.

That would actually be a great alternative to a "boring" still title screen, maybe we could also have the logo not be there from the beginning, but rather pop into the screen (with a white flash or something like in LoZ:LttP) at the end.
I don't think that would be too hard to pull off, considering it's on its very own layer!

@Dinomar: With the amoutn of free sprite slots left, we can't afford wasting it on custom sprites that just pop up.
Maybe some extravagant exanimation?
@leod: That would be awesome actually; it would fix the whole problem with the logo being too big and covering the background, since if the background is shown first with enough time to bask in the minds of the player, it wouldn't matter if the awesome logo covered it up a little bit at the end.
Also...these are just boss silhouettes, right?
Like...silhouettes that really doesn't give away what the bosses are...right?
And are there onyl gonna be four bosses shown?

We can't afford wasting one sprite slot on the title screen?
The screen that should represent the whole hack and give people a first impression of its quality?
If we really couldn't afford that, I'd say get rid of another custom sprite for this, as the title screen is really important, but that's not even necessary.

I was thinking that you'll need multiple sprites, actually.
If it's possible with one, I'm good with it.

I don't know any kirby games like that, but what I'm saying is that the one in front (Norveg I think) will pop up first and then the other three will pop up from behind him, if that makes sense. And yeah, it would require at least one custom sprite, or at least a patch to draw tiles onto the sprite layer (A custom sprite would likely be easier), it wouldn't be that difficult though.

I'm going to assume that if there were news, it would have been posted.
Besides, this is pretty much the last thing, along with the credits, that needs to be done. Really, the biggest priority with the hack right now is finishing up the levels, making sure the soundtrack is on track, fixing bugs/glitches, and then tackling the Overworld.

Will we be keeping the "Nintendo Presents" intro routine? Because I had an idea for a substitute.
Let me present it in a set of commands:
Black screen.
Title Screen music starts as white text fades in from black and expands slightly (SLIGHTLY) using Mode 7: "SMW Central is proud to present..."
Text fades to black and contracts slightly, again using Mode 7.
Same as above happens for next text: "Its second collaborative hack..."
Logo suddenly appears, bigger than the screen so as to not be discernible at its current size. However, the title already starts shrinking to its final size using Mode 7. Once the logo reaches its final size, the level mode switches to 1, and the rest of the title appears. The entire thing can be skipped by pressing a button.
I'd use movie-making software to illustrate my idea, but WMM is terrible.
Anyways, what do you think? Is it possible, or is it a waste of time and resources? Most importantly, am I explaining it well enough?

While something like that would be cool, it'd probably waste time. If we really wanted to, we could just fit all the unique information it gives on the Nintendo Presents screen. After all, something like that would be flashy, but it may make us look to prideful of our work, like we wont be willing to accept errors.
While I'm sure everybody's working hard on the hack, I feel that it's better to give the player an impression of simple beauty, rather than make the title screen a movie trailer.
