Super bump.
It's been quite a long time huh? Yep, I've been lazy and haven't worked that much in the hack, since I've been also porting and stuff...
Anyway, I decided to remake the bad levels of my hack, that's right, those levels where you wish you can get past them because of them sucking too much.
Well, I already finished the first one: Charge Castle.
LINK 2 TEH VIDEO
Compare it to the old Charge Castle. Pretty much from scratch.
So.. yeah, comments would be very appreciated.

Very nice Maxodex!
(I think that the YC are so easy to get, but not a big problem ;P )

That looks like a great level Maxodex. The graphics look good and there's some interesting level design, especially involving the use of the on-off blocks.
I must say the boss's name was quite funny too . Nice job though.

As mention somewhere already, I like the improvement to the first castle. It's defiantly looking better and makes a bit more sense. I like the on/off switch gimmick to the castle, it's simple yet still fun for a first castle.
Great job.

Thanks a lot guys! The On/Off gimmick was pretty fun to made, glad it turned out well.
New level from the level-remaking project, 'cept that it actually replaces an old one. Here's a video:
Why hello there
Comment please, they're very important to me
Enjoy!

Looks pretty good man, I like the formation of the level =D Also that hidden 1-up placement was really clever! Although there seems to be something missing... I am not sure what, maybe some more decoration? Anyway I like the outcome of the level, good job =)

@camoslash: Thanks, I knew about the decoration, but I never got those dead trees to go with a better decoration. I hope they get soon, though.
Also, not really an update but I wanted to point out that the first submap has been updated a bit, for the people who didn't notice.
Here's the old submap:

And here's the new one:

That looks great Max. That submap has a very healthy look to it. Good palette and decoration. Nice work!

I like the new version of that submap much better, the decoration+palette looks great .
And the level in the video looks great too, I always found it quite hard to design a level with the dino/rhino sprite set myself, so good job with that. The graphics and palettes for the level look pretty cool too.

Indeed a very nice submap you have there. The palette is superb. But there are a few errors...

Red = black line missing
Purple = perspective error
Blue = water corner tile missing.
Fix these and you've got a very neat submap. ^_^

IMO the missing water corners and the black lines are not that much of a problem, but I'll look into them. Also, there's no perspective error there, check again. ;)
EDIT: Also, I'd have to use extra tiles for the first red circle and for the first and third blue circles

Alright then.
And yeah, you're right about the perspective error. I guess I'm not used to hacking right now that much.

Wow I forgot to make an update of this thread lol.
Anyway yeah, I finally finished the 3rd level of the "Remaking Project", an old castle, like Charge Castle.
Charge Castle
I'd very much appreciate some feedback of this ^^

This is actually a really great level. The design is pretty good and the level looks like a good challenge, not frustrating..so thats good. Really like how the thwomps are placed, they don't seem too predictable. (In a good way.)
Good to see something from this hack again.
