I'm good with palettes. Can I help you design one for the hilly stage you posted earlier?

Thanks.
You bet Biospark, I'll PM you details.
Here is the new palette designed by Biospark88.

How does this look? Leave a comment.

Disclaimer: As of now This is the Palette in a test environment, I will post screenshots as soon as I get the .pal file.
I have to say the design of the level so far is looking marvelous, perhaps you should darken the palette a little bit though. (Just an opinion)

Other than that, I really do thing you've done an excellent job by the looks of those pictures.
Thanks for the compliment Smithy :D

Update:Thanks go to Biospark88 for designing a great palette for the first level. (It was exactly what I was going for, with maybe a few changes)

Anyways, here are a couple of screens of the first level with the new palette:
Looking good, Lost! Glad I could be of help ;)

I notice it more now than before, though. You may want to darken the FG dirt just a hair so it stands out more from the BG. I know, I know. I'm admitting that my palette wasn't perfect. But again, my name's not S.N.N or FPI, so c'est la vie! :P

The level design looks good, though. You've got the diagonal dirt strips. Every vanilla hack worth its salt has them, I think.
Thanks Bio, I'll do that.
So the OW has been through error correction and now has no errors. (as far as I can see) If anyone sees any errors let me know so I can decide if it needs fixing immediately.
Ehh... as the palette stands now, the foreground doesn't look very good at all. It looks really weird with the yellow outline, black grass shading and green dots in the dirt, and thus looks more surreal than the level generally feels. The unchanged bushes also look very out of place, too. All in all it doesn't really feel like a cliff, I'd rather suggest some orange/reddish colors instead. It's your call, of course.

I like the background palette though, and your level design seems good too. You have some really nice and original ideas which I've never seen before, like the layer 2 water level where you could only see the background through the water... amazing.

(I also want to mention that I could make some palettes for you if you want, you can find my works in the Misc. palette thread if you want to.)
The green dots in the dirt look ugly. Those dots should be a bit brighter than the dirt.
Actually GN I would like it if you could do a palette for me. I'll pm details.

Also: Yes I know the palette for the first level is ugly, it will be changed as soon as I can.

I noticed some errors:

- Red circle: add a black vertical line here!
- Green circles: this is a prospective error.
- Orange circles: fix that prospective error and then add a black vertical line.
- White circle: ??? I can't understand this, maybe it's a wrong interpretation of mine.
It looks like the cliff ends in the sea, while it should end on the green land (does this make sense? English isn't my first language :P).

Very well done overworld, though!#w{=D}
Update: the OW has once again been modified to correct a perspective error, plus a few additional touches to the decorations. Thanks goes to Lui37 for pointing these out.

No major updates to the levels....I'm Kinda low on inspiration again.

On a sad note..I am considering ditching this hack. I have reason to believe I messed up when applying the patches that make up Mario's "New" jump abilities. It could just be I need to port my progress to a new ROM but I'm not sure. If someone could reply how to save my OW over to a new ROM that would be awesome.

Overworld is ported. This should include things like message box text.

I found that in this thread.
I have decided that this hack needs to return to the drawing board for further review.

Edit: Upon Further Review I can still salvage this Hack.

Don't give up, Lost! You're going in the right direction.
Thanks Biospark, The Custom music was kicking my backside for a while but I Finally got it working.

Progress: As it stands now I am considering Ditching the cave Sub-Map in exchange for focus on the forest Sub-Map (which at the moment is more crucial to my projected story-line. I more than likely will have a total of 2 Subs and the OW with an estimated total of 20-30 levels. OW update coming later.

It took me awhile to figure out where I recognized this thread from; but I remember clearly now.

Anyways I thought you were off to a great start to begin with if that helps.
Update: Started working on doing something with the great amount of unused space on the OW (Mainly the water at the bottom) So i'll be Updating the OW often till I come up with something good.

The cave sub-map is now axed completely. I've decided the 2 sub-maps, the forest and the final area (based of the Valley of Bowser) to be enough work as it is with an estimated level total not passing 35 levels (maybe).

Also, I'm looking for someone skilled enough in ASM to help me with a few glitches I've encountered with the patches I added. If anyone is interested in seeing and perhaps fixing it, I'd be grateful.
