This is the level you get to if you go through door 2.

Mod edit: Fixed table stretch.

If you are using a Layer 3 BG in there then remember that hitting the message block will cause it to disappear. Also, the lava is cutoff near the Lotus and above one of the Munchers near the 3UP Moon. Why not use the cave lava? Oh, and the palettes of the Bullet Shooters and Note Blocks don't look great. Use smoother gradients with the ALT key.

I am aware of the message box thing, so I did not use a layer 3 background. And yes, I am aware of the lava cutoff. I am going to try to mix in the cave lava with the castle lava. If that works, that will solve most cutoff problems. And I will think of another color for the shooters.

World 2 - Level 1 (i know, it's pretty empty right now)

I'll draw graphics for this level later.

Meh, not much right now.
Level 10D
Level 002
@Neutron: Yeah, the graphics are nice.
@mathelete: Whoa! I can say I did not like the palette of the mushroom column, as well as its ledge (Yes, I was referring about sublevel 002.) I think you still should fix those palettes.

Done with the graphics, for now.

The thing is, i still need a background.
Okay, I fixed them. Check my previous post, the link leads to the new version.
my entry for the vanilla level contest
@mathelete: Well, I think it's okay too far, but if I lose a Yoshi on that part, I can get trapped and die.
@Neutron: Wow. I liked those graphics.
@xlk: That's a pretty nice level you've there.
Well, that specific room (door 2) is meant to be played by small mario and yoshi. So you are not supposed to lose yoshi, that is part of the challenge. It is kinda like a p-baloon level (Tubular from SMW). Get hit once and you are screwed. Furthermore, in a previous room, there is a message saying that if you choose to take Yoshi with you, you must not lose him. Otherwise don't take him with you.

This is accessed through door 4

Whoa - so, you're back in the SMW hacking business? It has really been a good while since I have seen you posting something in this thread (but then again, I come and leave frequently these days, so who am I to say such thing?).

Anyway, those graphics look pretty good. Though I feel that the pillars (in special the one-tile-width ones), as well as the platforms formed by them, may need a bit of extra shading - they look a bit too bland when compared to the bricks and the ground tiles (in which you did an excellent job on the shading, by the way). Try tracing a line of light in their center, similarly to how you shaded their bigger counterparts. That aside, good work. Do you plan on making the background by yourself?

xlk, if you want my honest opinion, I think it is a bit too straightforward. It would have definitely appealed more to me if you had introduced some sort of puzzle or something along the way. I also don't really like the background palette in the second portion of the level. As weird as it may sound, I don't think grey mountains complement the atmosphere you are aiming for well. I reckon, however, that some dark blue-ish ones would match that ambience much more nicely... but that is probably just me. I do like the purple-toned palettes you used in the first portion, though, and I like how the level starts vertically. All in all, nice work, though I would personally have introduced more puzzling sections.

Wow, been a long, long time (Emphasis on LONG) since I've shown anything. Well, this is a level from Hunter and Scorpion's Bet 2, the Twilight Gem, World 7. So yes, while I haven't been showing anything much, I've still been working on this. In celebration to Koyuki's Roto-Disc (with the tail), I've made a SMB3 Styled fortress. Also, I made SMB3 Styled graphics as you can see in the video. When this video is buried about a page or two down, I'll repost in the H&SB2 thread.
@Neutron: Wow, these graphics are very good!

@xlk: Very nice level, these graphics and palette looks very fitting, good job!

Well, thank you sir. Indeed, i am back, i finally found inspiration.

As for more updates.

World 2-2:

@Neutron: Those World 2-2 graphics look good overall.

Are those columns supposed to be solid? I guess not, since in screenshots 1, 2 and 3 you have one completely blocking the path. Currently, they're the same shade as the (presumably solid) brick ceiling. If I didn't have any other clues, I'd assume the columns were also solid, simply because of the lack of contrast.

So unless you're deliberately trying to fool players, you should probably change the color of the columns, to differentiate them from the bricks and make it clear that Mario can go through them.

@Neutron: That looks cool, but there's a cutoff on the vine.

CHASE THE BONES CHASE THE BONES CHASE THE BONES CHASE THE BONES
I finished this part, but it still has some glitches caused by the ASM gimmicks.

A simple base-level for my hack

Its Vanilla, I just combined grass and cave tileset, and later the castle cave and ghost house tilesets.
Here is the new Overworld for Taomb:

Notice the two red circles:
- How do I make that fish JUMP? There's only the soundeffect..
- I've used another color for the animated cloud tiles but it doesn't change in-game. Any solutions?

1. good job, the ow looks awesome. is this your work?
2. i think you used the right path tile with the fish symbol in it, there are 2 symbols. have you tried to change the slot for the fishes in the sprite ow setting?
A random level.
