WRONG OTAKU! I am an SMB3 hacker, not an SMW hacker, but I do get inspiration manly from SMW hacks from here and Japan (ex: the very topic screenie was inspired from the first level of Luigi's Adventure 4: The Revival of Tortoise Empire by Anikiti). Also, there are more enemies from SMW hacks that will be appearing in ASE.

SMWCentral, I have returned! ...To bump an old topic of mine. So, anyways, we finished our engine, the All-Star Engine. It will be released when this fangame is released. Benjamin is a member of my site, so I already explained this to him. It will be open-source.
In Super Mario World: All-Star Edition-related news, we have a new story. Me and S worked on this story together.
(clears throat)
"...The All-Star is the progenitor of the Starman, Power Stars, Grand Stars (which grants its wishing and god-like powers), and the Shine Sprites, which grants its luminescence. The Starman, Power Stars, Grand Stars, and the Shines can exist independently, but over time, they become scarce. The All-Star has tremendous, incomprehensible power, that anyone who controls the All-Star is granted immortality, unlimited wishing power, and can warp landscapes to their own image. It is said that only a true hero can defeat someone under the influence of the All-Star, if the All-Star was to fall to a darker force.
Present-day, tired of his many defeats at the hands of the Mario Bros., the Koopa King, Bowser, decides to steal the All-Star to conquer the Mushroom World. He, Bowser Jr., and the Koopalings set out to the Star World. They use the power of Kamek's dark magic, and take off with the All-Star. When Bowser harnessed the power of the All-Star, it warped Dark Land and Pipe Maze into the more fortified Koopa Core and the transformed Pipe Maze became the Pipeline Factory Grounds for Bowser's personal kingdom and its capital, Transport Conduit, under the Koopa Kingdom's jurisdiction. He then sundered the All-Star into 8 fragments, referred to as Star Shards, for him and the Koopalings to use. The Koopalings then proceeded to conquer the seven kingdoms of Mushroom World by abusing the power of the Star Shards and warping the resident castles to their own images.
When news of the recent invasion of Mushroom World and the transformation of the landscape reached the Mario Bros., heroes Mario and Luigi set out to liberate the conquered territories, and defeat King Koopa Bowser once and for all. The Mario Bros. will need all the help they can get. Wario, Toad, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong join them on their quest to defeat Bowser and return the All-Star, which Bowser plans to use to complete the transformation of the Mushroom World into his own powerful, dark kingdom."
Before anyone freaks out, Waluigi plays a pretty big part in this fangame. If everyone on the development team agrees on my idea, Waluigi will run a casino where the player can stop by to trade in treasure (assorted coins, jewels, and diamonds that enemies drop) for power-ups and extra lives.
So. What do you guys think? We recently completed our revamped Mario sprites and we're starting on Luigi. Time to ditch those placeholder graphics, y'know?
Levels from the previous developer's source are now being ported and improved in the All-Star Engine. Enemies are being reprogrammed into the All-Star Engine as well. Progress is... Better than before. It's hard to work on this fangame when my old computer won't even turn on (I need a new computer) and I've been working on this at my dad's house, whom I visit every other weekend.
As for the fake site, that was just an old friend who was hatin' on us because we stylin' on him.

The All-Star engine is based off of Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. It's our attempt at emulating the Super Mario Advance series in Game Maker. A long time ago we used the Hello Engine. I don't remember why we quit. I think it had something to do with too many glitches and bugs. Right now we're reprogramming enemies and bringing features over from our previous source. I've also gone overboard and started converting all these SPC files so we have authentic Super Mario World music for our game.

That is looking really REALLY nice. I've tried with Game Maker before, but never had the patience for it. Wow, I've really got to try it out soon. Anyway, these screens are really looking nice. If there was a "watch this thread" button, I would jam it. This is how good it is. I really wish it were possible to put this into a more frequently visited forum because this hard work needs to be noticed. Would it be okay if I advertised this in my sig?

Yeah. SMW: ASE needs more supporters, contributors.

Spammy post is spammy, so GTFO.
Anyways, Im hear to inform that SMW: ASE has been progressing. Kurokona (aka OTAKU, ~CaMtEnDo~) made this signature for his game (copypasted from MFGG): Originally posted by Kurokona If you support the project from what you've seen so far, put this in your sig:
QuoteI support Super Mario World: All-Star Edition!
The link for the picture is: http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/6171/isupportase.png
Just add it to your signature with the IMG BBcode. Don't forget the "I support..." part too.
Two months ago, a friend of Mikeystar, 9895JAH made a video of SMW: ASE's prolouge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_xjZF88n6w&feature=channel&list=UL
New screenies of SMW: ASE took by Mikeystar and posted with permission:
And this is the updated HUD that ASE is going to use in response to criticism on tSR (The Spriter's Resource) about the previous HUD which looked alot like MKFusion's. We have condensed the HUD to give players better view of the levels.

I saw these screenies, and what Kurokona wrote in the first post of this thread, and I can't find the 8 bit mode? Is it still in the plan, or you cancelled it?
