Mode 7 Map Texture?

Hey everyone. I've often come by this site in my search for game graphics and level editors, but I've never posted before. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a quick request.
I need a decent geography map of Yoshi's Island, and I can't get ycompress to work.

I'm building a model of the title screen in Minecraft.
I've recently completed the perimeter of the island, as you can see

but I've run into a bit of a snag.

I found a good bird's eye view of the title screen with just a quick google search so that I could do a decent pixel grid (It's not quite one block per pixel. Roughly half scale due to the height limit of the world) but this image also contains bird's eye views of all the mountains and trees and stuff on the island, which makes it difficult to plan out the interior geography, like where sand goes, and the shape of that large lake.
I'd really just like the raw texture file that they used for it.

I tried using ycompress, but it always tells me that it could not open the ROM. And frankly, I don't even know if ycompress will grab that particular image (it sounds like it just grabs everything that goes in a tilemap, and it sounds like Mode7 stuff is a different beast?) I've been digging around on the internet and the image archives on this site for a bit and haven't found anything.

So I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, or if you happen to just have the image on hand.
Thanks!
You can look at this post here for info on the objects, GFX, and tile maps,
and here for some multi perspectives of the island.

Awesome! Thank you!
Though I can't guarantee its accuracy, you may want to have a look at this:

It's an areal view made by Peardian for VGMaps. It should help you place things correctly.
From looking at the arial view that Kipernal posted and your progress, I don't think your progress is big enough sadly, if you're going pixel by pixel that is. My guess is you'd need a 300x300 size area.

That should explain it SolidSnake.
Yeah, I built the perimeter based on that one Bird's Eye view. I was wondering about its accuracy, too. Do you know how it was made? The width of the objects seems pretty accurate, but it's harder to gauge with placement.

And yeah, I'd originally wanted to do it full size, but I wanted to make it without any mods or anything, and in a standard Minecraft world the distance from sea level to the top of the world is 64 blocks. Looking at screenshots of the title screen, I count 112 pixels from the base of the tallest mountain to the tip of Raphel's castle, so I had to cut the scale down (this also helps me to keep my sanity) to 56.14% so that the tip of Raphael's Castle would be at the very top of the world.

When I'm done with this, I might use a mod or two and the new creative mode to make a full scale version.

I've made a tumblr for the project, if you guys wanna keep track of my progress.
