Why do people remove the outdated versions of ports? Two types:
1. The port just does not hold up to standards; or,
2. The port got an updated version (more accurate), therefore, the older one being removed.
I believe we should keep older ones for sound quality. I like some older port versions better than the newer, and I have no stinkin' clue how to find them. I think there should be a section for older songs, or just keep them (unless, you know, the port's AWFUL).

If a song is removed because a better version is submitted, then why would you ever want the bad version?

Sound quality. Just because it's less accurate, doesn't mean it sounds bad.

Yes, yes it does. It sounds like a high pitched whine most of the time, or sometimes sounds like nothing.

Plus, some older versions of songs might have echo or ADSR Decay that's too high.
We wouldn't outright replace a song if we thought it still had some merit.

Couldn't the song composer just fix it with ASDR?

they likely either are
no longer active on the site,
or
there are too many broken songs submitted (not easy to keep count)
also composer i dont think is the right term to use as they most likely didnt write the song, just ported it.

Bit late, but I just wanted to mention that certain old ports are being kept during the remoderation ("Legacy" ports, as people seem to call them for whatever reason). They will likely be reuploaded in a single ZIP once all is said and done.
..but aside from that, yeah. There is really no reason to use a "bad" port these days.

Well what do you mean by "bad?" Do you mean inaccurate, or do you mean ear-hurting type bad?

Inaccurate kind of automatically means that it will sound bad, as HFD already said, it'll either be a few high pitched whines and noise, sound like nothing or sometimes even crash.
Besides, a good portion of those old songs are really just horrible to listen to.
