Other then that, i'm loving what i'm seeing so far, i can't wait to see how the title screen will look like too.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Ladida is referring to Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece with this. I think they're the most popular manga in Shonen Jump, but this is just a guess.

Hell yeah put some Bleach characters in there, that would be awesome =D You could make some pretty interesting bosses with the characters from Bleach.

i would just like to point out that the kanji you are using for 'super' is a prefix and you are not using it very correctly. why not スーパー or 究極?
edit: nice gfx too and i take it this is for female characters and shounen jump is well........ shounen.
and totally off topic: big 3 is one piece, naruto, toriko. deal with it.

Can i help in something in this hack?
I would suggest you use the gurren lagann(from tengen toppa gurren lagann) as a boss or sub-boss.

From what I see so far, the hack looks promising. I'm usually not a fan of these kind of hacks with anime-like protagonists, but this may change me. I hope we get some actual shots of levels soon. The sprites do look nice, but I would love to see some gameplay or something.

Hint: If a thread is further back than the first couple of pages, it's most likely old enough that it's not worth bumping unless you have something extremely relevant to add. In case you haven't noticed, threads here are by default sorted by the date of the last reply.

Sorry, I don't really have any updates. However, I do have news. I've pretty much collected a bunch of midis that I might use. Porting doesn't look too hard (and I've already tried it), so I guess I've got the music down.
Also, now that I've made Master Hand, I feel like I can make anything. Therefore, I've planned and decided on the bosses. I'll post the list and you guys can agree or disagree with the ideas (they are not in order):
*Schneizel (Code Geass) - Chess Match
Anit-Spiral (Gurren Lagann)
Roberta (Black Lagoon) - some sort of chase
*Giant Rei (End of Evangelion)
Super Sayan Chizuru (mix of DBZ and Ika Musume)
Sawako (K-On) - some sort of Guitar Hero thing
*Rihoko (Amagami SS) - you're shrunken and she's eating cake
*Haruhi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) - Space battle [TDOS3], also final boss
Elsie (The Word God Only Knows)
*Kyubey (Madoka Magica) - he's buff ala SMWCP final boss
Seitokai Yakuindomo Girls (Seitokai Yakuindomo)
Accelerator (Index)
Yuno (Hidamari Sketch) - some sort of drawing contest
The starred ones I'm definitely keeping. It's the others I'm not sure of. I'd like for there to be 13 bosses total, though more/less wouldn't be too bad.
So yeah, that's pretty much it.

Wow, that looks... interesting. Certainly one of the more interesting boss ideas I've seen so far. Can't wait to see the full result with enemy AI and everything.

Wow ! I'm usually not in to these kind of slightly absurd hacks but this looks great ! Your drawings and graphics are as good as ever, your boss ideas are awesome...
I was wondering though: how do you move the pawns on the chess board ? Is it just like select a pawn chose a direction and then place it ?
Anyway Hip hip horray for what you've done so far and good luck getting all of this done.

I was thinking more "Pick piece, pick space, done". Though, I've actually stopped working on that specific boss because the rest of the bosses should be easier.
Here's a sneak preview of a boss I came up with, Sensei:
First phase
Older pic, but shows the source. You may recognize it as that one Koopaling boss by Carol (pretty much how I got the idea).
It's actually almost done, just need to code 3 more windowing moves. So... video coming soon ^_^

I've also started to port some songs. Don't worry if they sound lulzy, they're my first ports after all (blame the MIDIs *shot*:
Pururin (Welcome to the NHK!) (used as the star theme)
Motteke! Sailor Fuku (Lucky Star) (also the music I'm using on the boss, though it sounds a bit weird)
Gun's and Roses (Baccano) (probably my best, though the power set sounds annoying)
Cruel Angel's Thesis (Neon Genesis Evangelion) (the hardest one so far to port)
Music people: critiques, please!
