Whenever I try to install skype it keeps giving errors about the installion.

What error, what skype version, what Linux "flavour", how did you install it, what happens when the error occurs, does it just crash, or what?
You should give us SOME information at least.

Well I am using openSUSE with the latest version of skype, and it just crashes when I try to install it.

You're not downloading the windows installer, are you? I'm pretty sure skype is in the SUSE repos.
