i'll put SM: TNA on hold.
i'll go get a clean ROM and start a vanilla hack.
besides, custom sprite insertion results in a falling SMW GFX most of the time for me.
mabye because its the sprite number i give it?
22 does just fine, but 23 and 24 FAIL!
custom blocks aslo freeze the game sometimes. resulting in reinsertions...
Sounds as if your having problems with inserting custom things.
And no, many hacks that are peoples first are not vanilla. You dont have to make your first hack vanilla.
okay, i'll move on with the hack, but yeah, inserting things for ME can be a pain

First hacks don't need to be vanilla. It just depends on the people. When they don't want (or don't know) to insert custom things, they'll make a vanilla hack. Vanilla hacks are recommended for novices and for those who don't know how to insert custom things.
Oh, I found some issues I didn't notice earlier (Am I blind?):

Green - Cutoff
Yellow - Wrong tile (use this one without the line)

Green - Cutoff (yeah, there's a lot of it. I didn't round this at the top because it's the same as in the first screen). I'd suggest to use ExGFX or make the edge corners squared to fix the cutoff.

Blue - Wrong tiles (use the corners without the sand and the corner under the slope is also wrong. Use the corner tile for slopes and with the line).
Purple - Odd palette (I'd suggest to change the palette of the second digit. It looks strange in every level).

i know, theres some mistakes. i'll try to fix those later. as for the odd pallete, its a result of using the status bar editor.
however, i'll fix the wrong tiles and cutoff issues later.
then its off to custom blocks and sprites, if they feel like working...already have ExGFX. check my latest photo!

Yeah, I know. You probably messed with the SMW Status Bar Editor. However that palette probably could be a removal reason. Just saying.

its proable because i wasn't skilled with status bar editor.
didn't know how to use it, then i learned how to, but
then the pallete gets bad, it actully gets worse during boss battles.
just think of how bad it'll get with backgrounds using custom palletes!
(oh, and by the way, my rank went up.....again)

Yeah, changing the status bar palette isn't very recommended until you know how to change the global palette of it. The palette often messes up when you're in boss battles.

Did you use any patches? It may have caused the GFX32 file to be moved around or possibly, even deleted.

Cool, I guess. Do you have any shots of any of the updates you've made so far, or are you going to keep that on the low until the demo is released?

i might as well show the custom pallete in the custom sprite level, along with the sprites themselfs!

the last one is the roulette sprite

See the difference? Might want to fix that.
