Ugly, ugly crash, and the worst part is that one of the drivers--Dan Wheldon, who won the Indy 500 earlier this year--was killed. Truly a sad day for the racing world.
In my opinion, there were just too many drivers at overly high speeds on too small of a race track that inevitably caused this; I think the drivers were expressing this concern before the race today. But in the end, it happened, and tragedy resulted despite the great advances of safety with racing.
Again, a sad day, and RIP Dan Wheldon.
