I played this game for the majority of my childhood and loved it. I stopped playing simply because my account got hacked and I lost approximately 70m and my Chaotic Rapier which kind of turned me off. I'd probably still play to this day if I never got hacked. My character's name is Masterbri, he was 126 when I stopped playing.

I play it, I am currently a member, level 75 lol. I have like 3m, yeah I do not do a lot to get money, I skill a shit ton haha.
One time this guy convinced me to enter in some giveaway, and he gave me a youtube link to go watch the video to see what I would win. I got excited and clicked on the link below as stated in the video. It lead me to a log in page, I was like... alright? So my stupidity made me enter my info... It logged in and took me to a random post in the Runescape forums, I was like "um what the hell??" I was still on my account playing at the time so I asked him "um, it didn't lead me to anything, all it lead me to was a random forum entry..." then he said "oh well you have to log out". And I thought to myself 'wow, I think this is a scam.", so I logged out and tried entering my info in the log-in again, but it said I had entered the wrong password, I freaked out realizing this guy just stole my account. So I quickly requested an immediate password change. I went to my email and it said that password has been changed too! So I had the password recovery sent to a different back-up email I had linked to my account, and requested a recovery for my email, which was also sent to my back-up email address. After about 30 minutes I logged back in to runescape successfully. I had the kid on my PM list (friends list) and sent him a message: "You little bastard, you actually thought you were going to get away with this? I have so much security on my shit kid! You better watch yourself, I am going to find a way to get back at you, I promise, don't you worry...". Well of course I sent this in about a matter of 3-4 messages because with runescape it doesn't all show up if you type that all in 1 message heh. Well I haven't really figured a way to get back at that account stealing son of a bitch. I will though, eventually... I still have his account name >=)

Yeeeaaahhh... Really, Runescape is something I (normally) avoid like a plaque nowadays. I did have a lot of fun with it once, but I tried to get back into it, and... I really just don't see it anymore. And the forums? Ugh. Just ugh.

Yeah I do not even use the forums heh, it was a one time thing with that stupid account stealing ass =P But Overall I have enjoyed runescape, I had to take a break for a while though, because all it was doing was frustrating me lol.

This is the only MMOG I can tolerate. Strictly because whoever makes the quests does such a good job on the writing and design.
Yes, I have an account named "Tatrion" still, but I don't use it anymore. When I do play, which is usually only for about a month out of a year, I play F2P, and I do it on an account named "Cashew9255". If you feel like messaging me, go ahead (tell me you're from SMWC though so I'm not all "uhh who are you").

I've played runescape off and on for years. I started playing way back in '03 or '04. I enjoyed the game quiet a bit back in the day when a bunch of my friends from school were still playing (not sure but they either got me into playing the game or I started shortly before meeting them, back in 03/04 when I moved), eventually most of them stopped playing. I also ended up getting a bunch of my cousins to play but they all eventually stopped. I'm still on every once in a while so feel free to add me and message me if you ever find me on (remember to tell me who you are from here if you ever do).
Account is thehunter200, level 82 combat (I think), 6+Mil in gold (highest skill is 76 str/74 mining)

Never fun to get you account hacked. Happened to me once, I just got 2m armor (zamorak armor, the red rune trimmed set, was 2m at the time), posted in my sig on the tip.it forums. Log in a few days later on my secondary account and one of my cousins messages me asking why I'm logged on this account and my main account. Long story short, I was hacked, lost the 2m armor, got the account back. Was slightly ticked off about it but forgot about it and just continued playing.
Also the forums can be pretty awful at times, I look at the recent updates forum from time to time but I usually leave annoyed at how stupid, dumb and/or annoying some people can be.
the only real problem I have with the game is bots and most of the time I just ignore them (hopefully they can get rid of them sometime in the next decade)

I used to play it, and I was a pretty high level.
That was then, however. I don't get any joy in playing it now. Sometimes I go to it when I am bored, but that only seems to worsen my boredom.

@DPheonix: Yeah I got pretty lucky to get out of the situation, sucks that you got hacked =( My friend's brother got hacked, and he lost his chaotic rapier and 200m, he was so pissed. Also bots are reeeeally annoying, like I have been trying to get my woodcutting up to level 99, and there is just a ridiculous amount of bots... at least I can power skill my combat skills without any bots haha.
Also for anybody who wants to add me I am frequently on, my name is camoslash13, I changed it to camoslash just a couple days ago but I still think you need to type in camoslash13 in order to add me, yup. Anyways tell who you are if you add me, otherwise I may just block you lol.

Yeah, I haven't played in quite a while, but I've been told by quite a few people that the amount of bots have increased exponentially to the point where it's really a problem.

My friend told me last night they made an update that was suppose to get rid of 98% percent of the bots, but I still have seen a shit ton. I do not believe that is what the update was actually for haha. But seriously I will be sitting there cutting magic trees and there will be like 5-20 bots there with me! It is just so annoying, Jagex really needs to step in and ban peoples IP for good, so they cannot make anymore damn bots >=/ Although I know they could just make an account and play it on a different IP address but eh, it is better than nothing, not everybody is going to make that effort.

The update is tomorrow, the site has a countdown ticker. jagex seems quite confident that this update will fix botting issues for a while, which will fix the economy and make the game much more enjoyable.
Anyway I'm lvl 110 or so, I have three 99 stats and 30m worth of stuff. My username is dottedboy if you want ot add me or something. I log on a few times a week.

Well, look at that I never noticed that! Well mostly because I have the downloaded runescape on my desktop for easy access =D But that is AWESOME. About damn time this is happening, I thought it already happened (hence my friend...), now I may be able to cut trees in peace, woo!

It seems today as though they are all gone. I've talked to lots of people and nobody has seen any. GE prices are already rising.

God dammit... I just sold my whip too =0 I should have waited! At least I still have my 1k magic logs, hopefully the price of those fly up due to the lack of bots. I was training Slayer like crazy today =D Although for the rest of the bonus XP days, they are useless to me haha, they should have gave bonus XP in the skills that the bots were most prominent in. Oh well, I got my Slayer up from 1 to 30 today =D
