Tip: The lowest row of 16x16 tiles in a level do not appear. Avoid having a low platform that looks like a bottomless pit.

Pretty funky idea you got going there, but the yellow "dirt" tiles look a little bland. Perhaps you could put a pattern on them - or don't you have enough palette space?

Either way, looking good so far.

100 posts!

EDIT: Maybe you could actually reuse the highlight on the orange gem. Perhaps.

Really nice idea, but does it look visually confusing as you move? It's a lot of bright colors, especially yellow, I'm just wondering how it looks in motion.
I see what you mean, FirePhoenix, but when in motion, it looks much smoother and less confusing than the screens, if people find it's too much on the eyes, I'll bring the contrast down.

@The Vicious Outcast: I don't really plan on having a pattern on the 'dirt' part in the fun houses, as I've used a lot of those colored shapes to replace the pattern, however, I'm still working on the GFX so I may add something else eventually.

A few more screens:

That yellow fun house looks trippy as hell, so yeah I bet it is fun to play! Nice work! :3
Does the day/night thingy change on what time you're playing?

The hack is looking utterly amazing, I love how you have done the waterfalls as well. Like I said in the ExGFX Showoff Thread, the Yellow Fun House graphics are great. Brilliant job.
The day/night thing is throughout certain levels, its just to add more of a feel to them, no fancy ASM or anything, just simple palette editing.

Also, here's a video of level 1:
Paradise Isles 1

There's still a few things that need changing in there such as the music and some placeholder GFX (midway point).
Lemme know what you think.
I just looked at all the screen for this hack and holy crap. It is AMAZING. The SMB3 feel is awesome but it also has the original feeling as well. Your overworld submaps are great too and the pallettes are fantastic.
Looks like a generic level.

Bear in mind its the very first level of a large hack.
These is one of the professional looking hacks I've seen Kc! The shading on the OW cliffs and FG/BG in levels with evening and night are a rare sight, and the Overworlds are just wonderful, I mean it! We haven't even see levels in the later worlds yet.

Keep it up man, you're doing great!
That fun house looks great so far =D Cannot wait to see more! I have a question are you using a P-switch gimmick or a ON/OFF Switch gimmick? Just wondering because I see the outlines of boxes.
Overall, the level is very well designed, I'm rather liking the ExGFX additions to the SMW cave tileset, they fit in really well. Towards the end is a bit of high ground, which would look better if it was joined onto the rest of it, in the level that is. Also, I think the water with the hills in should be a bit lighter, it looks like they should be solid. I prefer swimmy waterfalls, but I suppose there maybe a reason for that.

Overall, great work, keep it up.
